Pop CultureThe books, movies, television shows and music of our generation. - Whatever that generation may be. Movie, music, book, and television trivia and commentary and much more.
I can't tell you the number of times we hit rewind on Tivolicious BOTH times we watched it and I'll be watching again today.
The commentary on suicide bombings... holy cow. They should make the preznit watch that two-episode arc. THIS is how desperate people are to do something like this. And yet it still came down on the side that sometimes things are just wrong no matter WHAT the justification..
Fave moments:
"Get your fat ass out of here. DISMISED!"
"It's been a long time."
"Funny, I feel like I see you every day."
"Honey, I'm home!"

I know. Talk about shocker... first you think you are going to get a nice shirtless Bamber and WHAM! THAT was a shocker. LOL
Hell no, she's not warming up to the toaster. She's gotta know they are playing her. And hey... it got her out of the apartment, didn't it?
I literally had to pee for FORTY-FIVE MINUTES and didn't go to the bathroom. With Tivolicious. We started it late so we didn't have to watch any commercials.

I loved it. Through the whole thing, I kept reading it as a commentary on that US occupation of Iraq. As it's a Canadian produced series, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if that was the point.

It's definitely commentary on human situations, and patterns. Good sci-fi should always be relevant. And it's better still if it's not meant to be a direct response to current events (because that is not often done well).
I'm not sure you can trust what the creators say about their inspiration, though. I wouldn't want my series to be seen as specifically political. But I would want it to be relevant.
I think the Cylon obsession with both religion and procreation to be an interesting thread.
I'm not as astute as pippa -- I only found out about them when they were halfway through with them.
Funny: there's a BSG fan on Veronica Mars who uses the curse "frak" in the season premiere and it becomes a joke. But it seems to be catching on (or a recurring joke) because Veronica is using it in the voiceover by the second episode.
Sorry. Next time they put something up like that I'll post. I just assume everyone is as rabid as I am. then again, I should assume I'm a sad case when I know more about the show and what's going on than your random FARK reader, since they have NO lives.
Y'all subscribe to the podcasts, right?

Is NBC REALLY that clueless that they think they shouldn't have to pay royalties? Give me a freaking break. Like they won't be included on the DVDs, etc.?
I'm with the writers.

It's not promotional material. It's content. The viewers aren't downloading them just to see previews. As you said, they'll be included on the DVD and be considered a feature.
That was amazing... probably tied with "33" as my favorite episode, although I may still like "33" best since it's what sold me on the series.
The SFX were PHENOMENAL! OMG... that jump and freefall and the Vipers launching? We were on the edges of our seats!!! People died you didn't think would die, everyone is totally mindfracked, three (at least) people who are probably insane or darn close, drama, huge battle scenes, and the Peggy giving her all and taking out TWO Basestars.
Yeah, I'm a nerd. And this series is so good I DON'T CARE. If you AREN'T watching this show, find out when the reruns are on and WATCH IT. This is the best thing on tv in years.
