| | The most anticipated book in the world.... | | ...finally has a name: Name of final Harry Potter book announced - CNN.com
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", hmmm, sounds interesting.
Yes, Eris, this is the final book. No word on the final publication date, but I would assume it shouldn't be too much longer. You might want to think about starting the first part of the series now.

| | Re The most anticipated book in the world.... | | So when big books like this come out that *everyone wants to read, do you buy just one and share it among family, or does every family member get one so they can discuss it as they read it? |

| | Re The most anticipated book in the world.... | | What's the fun of pre-ordering when you can go to the grocery store at midnight and buy it with the other crazies. Not that I do that. Exactly. |

| | Re The most anticipated book in the world.... | | MJ. Please don't say "Harry Potter" in the same sentence as "DaVinci Code". Ever. It upsets me. And you know how I get.
And what Pippa said. Last time, we went to Chapters for the big party. There were magicians, face painting, an owl (who almost pooped on #4, to his absolute delight) and snacks. We brought lawn chairs, grabbed books and magazines, and then sat and visited with total strangers until midnight when the books went on sale. It was a total blast, and the kids loved it! |

| | Re The most anticipated book in the world.... | | I haven't done the midnight visit for any of the books so far, but I might just do it this time.
Funny story - book #5 came out on my wedding day. Hubby and I had to go to Walmart after our rehearsal dinner (I decided that I was NOT going to make it all day in heels, so bought some cheap white tennis shoes and lace for shoelaces!) and we were there around 11:00. I tried to convince hubby to stick around until midnight to get the book, but nothing doing. The next day during the toasts at the reception, my MIL (another HP fan) gave me the book, which she and my neice had gotten (along with their copies) at midnight.

| | Re The most anticipated book in the world.... | | We never intentionally buy two copies of anything! But then, the kids are little enough that they have no say.
I've *never* done the midnight thing. Of course, I didn't start reading the series until the first 4 were out - I saw the first movie, loved it, started reading a library copy of it and knew instantly I wanted them all, so I got the boxed set.
#5, I happened to have some Amazon GCs on hand, so I paid a whopping 47 cents to have it delivered day of release.
#6, I didn't have anything extra in the budget to buy, so we borrowed from the library. However, a few months ago I managed to stumble across the special artist's edition with extra pictures and stuff not found in the regular edition, and I bought it. Because it was, ya know, a whole $1 on the clearance table at B&N.

| | Re The most anticipated book in the world.... | | I've gotten the last two at midnight, and I'm sure I'll be doing the same for this one. Did the party at B&N last year, Wal-Mart the year before, and I think I'll probably be back to W-M again this time around. The party really didn't do much for me.
