| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | He may be a cynic, but he's probably right.
OTOH, I'm an even bigger cynic. I'd bet she brought copies to the audition.

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | I'm sure of it. It got her enough attention... she's featured on Vote for the Worst, and EVERYONE knows her name, first and last in a point in the competition when contestants are hard to tell apart.
Seriously... if that was me (and it would never have been), there is no way I'd have been able to get up on stage the next week in front of America. I'd be hiding in my house. Under the covers. Calling convents.
G says he's waiting for the inevitable video. |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | Yep, that's what #1 said, too. It should be this week, since she is the worst. And they got rid of a good singer last night. Well, three. They kept her, they kept Sanjaya- wtf? |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | There is a huge difference, in terms of economics and exposure, between being in the final 12 and the final 24.
For example, when my church band made a CD, we had to pay a dime in royalties to the composer of each song every time we sold a CD....
So, if you're in the top 12, you're on the tour and the CD and the DVD (if any....)
You probably make a dime (or a little more) on every CD, every DVD, every T-shirt with your image emblazoned on it, etc., etc., etc. You also get paid for touring...
And so whether you ever get a recording contract or not, if the American Idol CD sells 2 million copies, you have at least 200 grand....
Before all the other stuff.
If you're a 16 or 17 year old like Kevin Covais, or Sanjaya, or Lisa Tucker, or the football player's daughter, Jordin, you've got your college and grad school paid for even if you're the first one in the top 12 voted off.
Of the people voted off this week, I was disappointed about AJ--I thought he had a great voice.
Leslie seemed really sweet, although she really didn't have the pipes (and that group # really separated the wheat from the chaff.) And she was so darn cute....
After all, isn't that how Kelly Pickler did as well as she did? Not a great voice, but so darn cute?
When Antonella and Melissa (the opera singer) were in LA waiting to see which one had been chosen, it should have been an exit for Antonella right there.....at that point it was all in the hands of the judges, and it was the worst decision they made all season. |

| Frazz, you really should check these out: Salon.com Technology | Courtney Love does the math and major labels: the problem with music Quote: | The band is now 1/4 of the way through its contract, has made the music industry more than 3 millon dollars richer, but is in the hole $14,000 on royalties. The band members have each earned about 1/3 as much as they would working at a 7-11, but they got to ride in a tour bus for a month. |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | LMAO Slick. Didn't you catch Ryan saying "So, what did you do with your money after the Idol tour?" and she said "Shoes" to which he replied "Anything ELSE?"
G was in the background yelling "Any other accessories? Floatation devices? TITTIES?" |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | Yep, I caught that. I figured that was the deal, but not seeing her in a while I needed a little confirmation. |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | I can't believe she's still there. Sanjaya, I can understand because he has had good moments and people may give him the benefit of the doubt when he tanks. Antonella has never had a good moment that I've seen.

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | OMG - Blake sang 311? HEART him for that! I love 311! Here is the 311 version of that song. What I loved most? None of the judges knew it. Not one. And 311 has SEVERAL CDs out!

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | So...speaking of Melinda Doolittle, wow!
You know what just kills me about her? She comes in, just tears up the stage with an awesome performance, even looks like the song she's singing, and the minute she's done, she turns into the little shy bunny again. Honestly - tonight, she was amazing, and sang that song with everything she had. And then immediately looked as though she'd jump through the ceiling if you walked up behind her and whispered 'boo'. |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | I was really disappointed in the mens' performances last night (didn't see Blake--but his reprise segment looked pretty good.)
I still really like Melinda and Lakesha. I thought Gina did a great job rocking--and as soon as she started singing I said to my hubby, "SHE should have sung the Pat Benatar song." Jordin's version of "Heartbreaker" just seemed to fade into the woodwork after Gina came out, because I could just picture her doing "Heartbreaker" so much better than Jordin.
Arrivederchi, Antonella (I can dream, can't I?) I still can't believe the judges took her instead of the beautiful talented opera singer....
Well, we'll find out who the final 12 is tomorrow. |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | Frazz, Antonella came out in those boots, and #1 said,"She's in".
And wasn't Gina a kick last night? I still like Lakesha and Melinda the best, and after Tuesday I'd have voted almost all of the men off. |
