| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | My predictions: Goodbye Jordin and Chris.
Blake: good song, BAD hair.
Melinda: not really a rocker, but she did a good job
Lakisha: unfortunately, she was spot on this week
Phil: Rocked this week, in spite of the lack of rocker hair |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | Jordin was just awful this week! I've really liked her up until now, but that was awful, embarassing, and being cutesy didn't even save it. Bleah. And Phil needs to get the dandruffy eyebrows thing taken care of.
/shallow remarks
It's so cool to watch the news here after AI, because they always film from the Lakisha party. She's not my favourite, but she has some amazing friends and family here. |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | I finally voted. Sat there watching the Dancing With the Stars results show and voted for Melinda, Blake, and Lakisha a bunch of times, and Phil a few times.
I didn't have any trouble getting through at all.
Blake because he's true to himself, because he pulled out all the stops, because he has so much joy and intensity when he performs, and because he has loads of charisma.
Melinda because she gets prettier and more confident every week, because she not only gives 110% but lays the groundwork and does her homework before performing, and because she has an awesome talent.
Lakisha because, of all the contestants, she's the one who has overcome the most obstacles to get where she is today, because of her big heart and her big voice.
Phil because his song made me cry last week, and because, out of all the male singers left, he is the one who has worked hardest on the art of vocal excellence.
I would have been happy to see Chris go weeks ago. I have never found Jordin that appealing.
But I expect to see Chris and Lakisha go. Darn! |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | Sounds like sebbhorric dermatitis (sp) and its really hard to control. If he has it it may be why he shaves his head. It makes you have dandruff, plus your ears, eyebrows, eyelids and nose flakes. |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | I've got to say, I'm completely underwhelmed by last nights show. Thank heavens for DVRs... zipped through most of it.
Yawn...
Now, Dancing with the Stars and that Apolo Ono! What a hottie!

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | What Leslie said. Frazz was right, and I am totally and completely tired of her. And I'm afraid she is going to knock Blake out of the running. I am so crazy about Blake's last two songs- he did good. |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | I admit it - I am hopelessly addicted to the show now. It's George's fault.
I've been reaidng various blogs, and although I have been assuming that Melinda is a shoe-in for Idol, most people are predicting that Jordin will win. I am stunned. Melinda is the one who'll sell records, at least in my opinion. Mainly, because if she had a CD available right now I'd order it. Blake, too. Jordan doesn't seem like anything new to me.
Who do you think will take the whole thing? I still think that in a fair world Melinda wouldn't have to worry even a little bit, but I know life's not always fair. |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | Melinda, unfortunately, is not really pretty. That hurts her votes wise. She's sweet and she's very talented, but she's not going to make the young girls scream or want to be just like her. So, I vote like hell for Melinda every week because I think substance should win over looks.

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | I am hoping that Melinda will win, Jordin will leave and Blake will come in second. I want Blake to come in second because I think he has a chance at a real career if he can break away from the Idol machine faster. Jordin is a conniving twit who had a full professional career before Idol and has not been upfront about it at all, which pisses me off. Melinda, who also had a career, is a better talent, has been upfront about her past success and experience, and could pull off the grueling contractual obligations and stay on top in a way we haven't seen since Kelly Clarkson in Idol 1. |

Have you guys seen what they are doing to Kelly Clarkson's latest album? It's insane. I want to adopt her right now. No wonder she was so anti-Idol. |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | If you do what Clive tells you to do once you've signed your contract, they promote you all over the place. Try to cross Clive? And they blackball you everywhere.
Kelly Clarkson didn't like the crap that was going on with this album (like handing her a song Lindsay Lohan had ALREADY RECORDED). A lot of her songs (Like Miss Independent) were songs written for other artists like Christina Aguilera. She didn't want to do that (much less cover a Lindsay LOHAN song) and co-wrote the whole album, which pissed Clive off apparently.
They delayed the release of the album for over three months, timed the release of her first single to be at the same time as Carrie Underwood's "Stand By You" cover that was pimped all over the Idol Gives Back Show, and then "leaked" that Clive wanted to scrap the album, which has been all over the blogosphere.
Pathetic. |

That's awful. And I had no idea they were behind that song she sang on IGB. I've liked almost everything Carrie UNderwood has released, except for that.
So, is Clive Davi what's happened to Taylor Hicks as well? Or should I say 'Taylor Who'? He just sort of disappeared after his win, which puzzles me. |

| | Re American Idol Season 6 | | I agree, Elyzabeth! Apolo and Julianne are just adorable together. At practices they seem to have a brother/sister relationship, but on the dance floor their chemistry and energy and sparkle are unbelievable.
And yes, I am mourning Melinda's leaving, too. What a classy lady! I heard a radio clip she did in Nashville, and she has a wonderful speaking voice and conversational manner as well. She could be like Oprah or Ellen.
I have felt Jordin is a phony for awhile now....much was made of her hastily squeezing out the tears when she noticed the camera was on her during an elimination show...
All season they've shown clips of her cheerleading and visitng her high school.....well, she is homeschooled.....and she is homeschooled because her career and showbiz didn't leave her enough time for real school.
'I have A's and B's,' she told Ryan.
I think that the worst example of what the Idol machine can do was Katherine McPhee. My hubby bought her CD right away, and I literally couldn't stand listening to it. "Let me outta the car!" I said. "I can't take it anymore." And we had both been huge Katherine fans. It was so overproduced that on some of the tracks you couldn't even tell which voice was hers in the chorus.
I don't think that's who she really is.
If McPhee is really a Scientologist (and who knows, she may be...) then I would assert that Clive Davis is to McPhee as Tom Cruise is to Katie Holmes.
Are these two beautiful young women being stepfordized?
I wouldn't want to see Blake stepfordized....but I don't think he'd let himself be. A Blake win might be good for Idol because he'd stand up for his style and they'd be forced to promote him anyway, at least on the first CD.
Chris Daughtry, meanwhile, is smarting because they made him fire his hometown band to record and tour with strangers... |
