I cry at the drop of the hat at many movies and some TV shows, but I don't think I've ever cried over 24 (except in anguish over their plot inconsistencies!

). I think it's that I never quite see the characters as real -- I'm always aware of the writers behind the curtain pulling the characters' strings. It's a weird thing -- I do enjoy the show, even though I am almost never able to suspend disbelief as I watch.

How is the VP going to avoid section four of the 25th Amendment? Maybe given several days to line up half the Cabinet and go to Congress he could effectively stage a coup like he wants but no way could he pull it off over the course of an hour or two,

Erik, remember in whatever earlier episode they tried to remove David Palmer from presidency as well? I am trying to remember how they handled it then, but am drawing a blank.

Yeah, vaguely. I think they just had the Cabinet take a vote, but the 25th Amendment is in reality more complex than that. Don't remember exactly why the vote was taken, but in this case it would be a vote to launch a nuclear strike on dubious grounds.

But maybe Alberto Gonzales is the AG who the VP is getting on the phone in the 24 universe. He could just write an opinion that the 25th doesn't apply.

But, didn't you laugh when Doyle went into the room with all the dead terrorists and said,"Damn, jack!"? I was howling!

Yes, but I liked last week's "funniest line" when Jack had to tell the guy in the bar to stop kicking Fayed, and the guy says in a tiny voice "He shot my friend." Then Fayed says "I hope your friend dies" and then Jack kicks him and yells at him to shut up.

I think you had to be there, but Maggie and I played that over and over like 4 times. Something about the timing of it made it funny.

Kind of an odd ending to the most recent episode, no real cliffhanger like they always have, just Jack being told that he was cursed.

So, when the Bad Guys steal Audrey back again, will her dad have to come crawling to Jack to save her? Just a guess.

The guy who plays President Suvarov sure looks a lot like Putin.

No mention at all of Audrey in the latest episode. Will they follow-up with her in the season finale or leave it in limbo?

That Veep is almost as creepy as Cheney.
