| | 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | Okay, so the show has clearly jumped the shark more than once but I'm hooked anyway.
Jack Bauer isn't human. Must be a cyborg or something. Didn't say a single word during two years of torture?
Palmer 2.0 agreed to put those hundred guys on a plane with all of two minutes of soul-searching?
Suitcase nukes come equipped a a go-bang- now switch (okay, maybe the bad guys added that bug)?
FWIW, I think that this season needs a strong femme fatale along the lines of Nina Myers or Behruz's mom. |

| | Re 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | Not only did Jack not speak during two years of torture, but he's back and except for some mental anguish that comes and goes, is in pretty darn good shape.
But yes, we are hooked here, too, and it looks like a great season.

| | Re 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | Worse than a nuclear bomb -- why did they have to go and make Chloe all glammed-up? With Edgar dead, and Chloe looking like she spent the entire 2-year hiatus in a salon getting her hair and make-up done, who is left to represent the average-looking nerds of the world? He's Superman without the spandex. |

| So she'd be the kind of hottie Morris would want. |

And most people are probably scratching their heads and saying "The nuke went off in Valencia where?"

| | Re 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | OMG! This is the first season we've watched a week at a time. I love getting the entire season on DVD and then having a 24 orgy. It is going to be so difficult to wait for the show each week! I'll miss 'Hero', though. |

| | Re 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | I've gotten Maggie to watch 24 for the first time. She's not usually into TV, nor into violent stuff. But she agreed that it was compelling and I fear I have lured her into a bad habit. She'll likely drop it once the semester starts up again.
In any case, she complained that on Tuesday we didn't have another hour of 24 to watch. She's got it easy, because I'll queue up a bunch of House re-runs on the DVR and we'll watch them all on consecutive nights.

| | Re 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | MSNBC is just jealous of Fox's ratings. Next they'll be saying that the gov't is working with Simon Cowell to keep people watching American Idol instead of paying attention to politics. |

| | Re 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | You know, I think I can agree with this. After all, CSI is just shown to keep people afraid of being murdered, and Grey's Anatomy makes people afraid of getting sick. Project Runway? I am terrified of being badly dressed and not being glamourous enough. Queer Eye gave me fits of depression because I use the wrong product and don't like the right kinds of tea. Dang- TV is just one big black hole of network-generated despair! |

| | Re 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | Grey's Anatomy makes me wonder why all the hot doctors went to Seattle instead of here?
House makes me think doctors don't have a clue and just want to do lots of tests until they get it right.
24 makes Homeland Security look like Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.
And my other favorite "Antiques Roadshow" makes me look twice at every piece of junk I'm thinking about throwing out. |

| | Re 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | I am beginning to hate this show.
I think that Season 1 of 24 was one of the best seasons ever for any show in television history.
I hate Jack Bauer. I hate the inconsistencies. I hate the fact that Jack can drive through early morning rush hour traffic and take out the terrorist kid immediately. I hate that Jack had to take out Curtis with a kill shot, and we're due for 20 more hours of Kiefer doing angst. He already overdoes angst in every role. (sigh)
I do like D.B. Woodside -- always have. I like that Karen Hughes and Bill Buchanan got married. I don't mind Chloe being made up (she always was very beautiful -- they deliberately frumped her up a bit for 2 years. Go look at her early photos)
I would dearly love to see Chloe and Audrey argue over who loved Jack more.
I told my wife at the first commercial break of episode 1 that Jack would be free by the middle of episode 2. He beat me by about 5 minutes.
So what did President Palmer give up for Jack? When do we learn that? And who thinks the answer is going to be so horrifying that it drives Jack bonkers? |

Does anyone know if Baby Girl is signed for this season? |

| | Re 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | It was very obvious to me that Morris would be the technician they'd want but, for crying out loud, all phones always work except the one time that he tries to call the hospital to check on his "injured" brother? |

| | Re 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | I missed the Morris cue -- color me stupid. It seems pretty obvious in retrospect.
So here's the deal. We're what -- 1/3 of the way through? Karen Hughes is in Washington in a sealed bunker that she is just leaving. Bill is in CTU headquarters in Los Angeles. Sure, Karen can pull strings and maybe get a military ride somewhere, but if a nuke goes off in the US, let me assume that the FAA is immediately grounding all air traffic.
So does Karen show up with Bill before the show's end? It's a 5 1/2 hour flight plus time to and from the airport. She could do it, I guess.
And who would've thought that Peter MacNicol could play such a cagey political bastard? He's doing a good job. |

| | Re 24 -- Season 6 (with spoilers) | | Very convenient that members of the security staff at the Russian consulate aren't on a first-name basis with each other and will defer to some guy who walks up and speaks one sentence in Russian to them. | |
