The Jeopardy test

Did anyone else take it? They were offering it online for the past two nights. I love Jeoprady, I love trivia games and usually do really well.

I blew. I mean, just totally sucked tonight. Talk about deer-in-the-headlights! I just stared at the questions flying past. I couldn't remember Thomas Wolfe's name, couldn't remember the Appenines, couldn't remember who wrote 'The Glass Menagerie' even!

Of course, as soon as the test was over I remembered the ones I couldn't, and also realized that I'd missed a bunch of the oens I thought I'd answered correctly. Oh well. At least I now realize that I am not destined to be the next Jeopardy Goddess.

Re The Jeopardy test

You would have done really well. Next time, we should make sure it gets posted to the board.

Do you know the Epinions guy who's going to be on at some point?

Someone called Dr. Faustus. All one word: drfaustus. I don't think I heard of him before this.

FSUTrill was on one of the game shows a couple of years ago - wasn't it Jeopardy? I remember I never got around to seeing it, whatever it was.

Re The Jeopardy test

I passed the Jeopardy test twice. Both times in studio. I was on the show a few years back unfortunately when the dollar amounts were piddly compared to now.

I won one show, but then I got hit with a category of baseball trivia. Of course, I swept the board on Jane Austen. Must be a chick theng.

Interesting you mentioned Cheryl...

When she left for France as a missionary, I put myself on her e-mail list. I don't get her newsletter often, but one arrived about two weeks ago.

(Perhaps I should write and ask her which game show she was on.)

They've built a church in Lyons, and seem to have happily adjusted to their new environment. If anyone would like a forward of the newsletter, pm me.

He lost, but barely. He was really good, and would have been an interesting champion.

Re The Jeopardy test

I thought he did a good job of only answering when he knew the answer...I think he only missed one question in regular and double play. Seemed like a nice guy, very engaging. Didn't mention eps but he's a Spanish teacher in Sheboygan WI.

Sheboygan. I love the sound of that word. Sheboygan. Maybe someday I'll go visit there so I can say "Sheboygan" more in daily conversation. Sheboygan.
