 Quote: OS ANGELES, California (AP) -- The tension between movie-star exes Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger erupted when an angry phone message from Baldwin to his daughter was made public.
The recording was published Thursday by celebrity news site TMZ.com, which said the call was placed on April 11.
On the recording, Baldwin can be heard admonishing his 11-year-old daughter, Ireland, "You are a rude, thoughtless little pig."
"You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being," he says, apparently upset that she did not answer her phone for a planned call.
"I don't give a damn that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you're a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care about what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone."
He goes on to say that he plans to fly from New York to Los Angeles "for the day just to straighten you out on this issue."

I hope the next time Alec and Kim have to go to court, the judge bites his butt over this one. What a jerk!

Honestly, what he did was rotten. Parents shouldn't call kids names. What the mother did was worse. She used her kid in a public ploy to make her ex look bad. They're both icky people.

There certainly seems to be a lot of toxic hatred in this family--their acrimonious divorce has made headlines for years.
Could it be the success and renewal of Baldwin's new series, 30 Rock, that's turning this little girl into a bargaining chip again?
His conversation with her was dreadful, but I wonder what we'd hear Basinger say about her Dad if their house was wired? |

Shame on Kim Basinger
I can't stomach Alec Baldwin, but that was really low to involve her child in that way. Now the whole world knows this poor child is being raised by buttheads

Just because Kim Basinger is a b*tch doesn't mean that Alec is in the right. Quote is from a press release: Quote:

I've lost my temper with the boys. Every parent has lost it. I have never called any of them names - I think this is past apalling and edging in toward child abuse. Both parents- and I wish that this poor kid could manage to not be raised by wolves. They ought to both be utterly ashamed of themslves - which still won't make the child get those words out of her head, ever.  |

I agree Cindy. Daddy Alec was verbally abusive. Mommy Kim was passive aggressively abusive (She can't get those words out of her head when they are playing on the Today Show, Good MOrning America, The View, The Soup, Entertainment Tonight, etc., etc., etc.,)

Just found it in my feeds. The daughter is actually 17, and he had told them to do that if he ever fell off the wagon the last time he dried out apparently. There was more to the tape I guess where she's telling him that they are going to come test him (did he have a DUI I slept through) and he would lose his job.
Hey, I actually think it's a decent thing for her to have done. One of my cousins just dried out and was shocked seeing the rest of the fam all lit like Xmas trees. I think most alcoholics have absolutely no idea what they look like. | |
