| | Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | OK, I know you guys are heavy into season three now, but I just finished watching season 1 on DVD and am impatiently awaiting the arrival of Season 2.
Dang, that's some good stuff. They're not as well-written as Firefly, but it's still pretty awesome. I'm avoiding reading anything anywhere else on line because there's no way there can't be spoilers--I mean, even a list of characters would tell who survived that season cliffhanger.
On a separate note, I got to meet someone who is in the television series, but I didn't find that out until after I talked to her so I wasn't able to overwhelm her with my geeky questions. She was playing the lead role in our local professional company's play. In the TV series, she plays the representative from Gemini on the Quorum of 12.

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | OMG! WAH! The crazy religious one? Much weeping. I want to be YOU when I grow up!!!
It's amazing, isn't it? I'm DYING that they are making us wait until January for Season 4. Make sure you got ALL of Season 2 and not 2.0. The season was aired (and subsequently released on DVD) in two parts: 2.0 and 2.5.
There is supposed to be a miniseries on in the fall about what happened with Battlestar Pegasus after the Cylon nukes, but I'm not sure if it's got a definite air date. |

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | It's one of the best dramatic series on TV in years and I am hooked. I also loved Firefly and wish it had had a much longer run. Great theatrical minds think alike.
Kisses,

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | It's great storytelling--isn't that what we theater folks love?
I have season 2.5, but then I realized that it didn't include 2.0, so now I'm waiting. (Can't watch it out of order, don't you know!)
Is she the crazy religious one? In series one she had only a few lines so I didn't get much of a feel for it. She was playing the lead role in a show about Barbara Jordan.

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | I'm upset we have to wait so long for the next season, but really I want them to take their time if it means good quality. |

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | Oh, the AGONY, Bridgette!!! I love the whole show (except some of the craptastic episodes that showed up from time to time, like "Black Market"). My all-time favorite episode, though, is still "33" in terms of storytelling. In terms of SFX, well, you'll just have to wait until Season 3. |

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | "33". Is that the one where they had to make a jump every 33 minutes? I liked that one too, though we were a little bothered about why everyone had to stay awake and why they wouldn't have had shifts.
I don't think I've gotten to "Black Market" yet.
I'm really impressed with how character driven this show is. And the interactions between Baltar and his cylon (I forget her name)!! Oh my goodness. That's some incredible stuff and some amazing acting.

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | Black Market is Season 2.
And they did sleep a little bit, but with having to be CONSTANTLY on alert, they didn't get much. They had to have as many pilots as possible in the air before they jumped each time. Brutal. |

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | I know I got tired just watching it. They were really, really effective. It also nicely set up the relationship between Cara and Apollo.
Oh, and I so don't get Cara and Baltar. What's up with that? He's not her type at all.

Black Market stunk it up
But I guess that's nothing new. |

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | You kind of need to see it if only to answer some questions you end up with (like what the hell happens to the global economy when there are 42,000 people left on space ships) and to see some backstory for Apollo. Other than that, blech. |

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | Well, Season 2 arrived in the mail and I watched the first disc and have lost the rest!!! I was almost in tears last night when I finally had time to watch some more and couldn't find it. We tore our room apart looking for it.
*sigh*
In other news, have you read any of the BG books? I found one at our local gaming store and its written by a friend of mine (his wife was the best man in our wedding). Last time I talked to her he was in negotiations for the contract, but hadn't gotten it yet. Obviously, I need to talk to my friends more often.

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | No, I haven't! Ack.
I'm still in mourning... the cast said on Thursday at the Saturn awards that the upcoming season is the last, and Katee Sackhoff has already signed on for the Sci-Fi re-imagining of The Bionic Woman.
I feel like someone killed my best friend!!! |

| | Re Battlestar Galactica for slow pokes | | What? You're kidding!
Man, only four seasons? There's way too many open ends for everything to be resolved in that time period.
Forget the Bionic Woman, I'd rather have more BG.
