Just watched the results. I am SO SO SO happy she lost. SO happy. She's going to get a much better contract than the winner. And she wont' have to sing whatever crap they want her to. Take a look at Taylor Hicks' career since winning compared to Chris Daughtry. I'd rather have third.

I geuss I see your point, but the other two didn't even deserve to stand on the same stage as her. From the POV of being given her due, this totally sucks. And don't *even* say 'Jordin Sparks' to me. Don't.

And I also am glad she lost, although I'd hoped she'd make it to second.

Crocodile tears, IMO. she has cried at everything, every compliment. When Simon has given her deserved criticism, however, she's mouthed right back at him. She's not soft. IMO.

melinda was the best out of the three-did you see the look of shock on the beat boxer's face when she got voted off? he didn't expect to go further.

but honestly-even as good as Melinda is, none of them this year were great.

I think Melinda had smaller crowds because she chose different venues.

She is a person who believes in connections and relationships, obviously. She visited her Alma Mater and her church (she is a good friend of Mandisa, an Idol finalist last year, and they were both very involved with Gospel singing and ministry.)

Jordin, on the other hand, went to her town square and to the school she no longer attends (duh?)

Blake went to the Mariners game! You couldn't ask for a bigger crowd than that....

Melinda also could have been hurt on her visit by Nashville's reputation as the country music capital of the world.....People there are used to famous performers.....Katherine McPhee had the same problem last year in LA.

Saw Jordin on a talk show last night. Remembering how poised and gracious Melinda was (she could be the next Oprah, truly) it was hard not to make a comparison to the awkward Jordin (who even said that for her talking is much scarier than singing.)

I am still completely perplexed by Jordin's win....

I don't think she was voted in by her peer group. If she was in my daughter's high school, at some point they would have held her down and waxed her eyebrows....among other things...

Maybe she was voted in by parents who WISHED that their teenagers were homeschooled teenagers who liked Christian music.

I am just perplexed.
