I picked up the BBC series DVD for my Dad for Father's Day (shhhh don't tell!) and can't wait for him to see it. I never saw the series, but everything I've heard sounds fantastic. While we were traveling, I listened to an interview with one of the photographers on NPR, and it was facinating.
Anyone see the original on The Discovery Channel? Should I pick up a copy of the DVDs for myself?

I've been watching it on the hi-def Discovery Channel. I hear the BBC version is better than the one I saw because the narrator on the original is better.
