Celtic Woman

So last night, while I was working on cutting rings, tumbling rings, and making micromaille, I watched a Celtic Woman in concert on PBS. Anyone else ever seen them, heard of them? Every time I catch them, I love them even more. Somewhere (from West Side Story) and Over the Rainbow (from The Wizard of Oz) reduce me to tears.

I'm thinking that a DVD of their concert would be perfect for my mom for Christmas...she loves that kind of stuff too.

Re Celtic Woman

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Celtic Woman! Of course, I'm a sucker for any Celtic music. I used their version of "You Raise Me Up" in the movie I made for our preacher's family last year when they moved away. That was the first time I'd ever heard that song, and it gave me goosebumps.

Which concert did you catch - the New Journey one? The Slane Castle concert was a lot of fun, too.

You can catch a TON of their stuff on YouTube, plus performances that the individuals have had in other venues - like the violinist, Maire, was in Lord of the Dance, and that's on YT.

Re Celtic Woman

I think it was the castle one...I know I've seen it before. The New Journey CD was being given away "with your generous pledge" but I think this was the older concert. They are coming to Omaha in November and I'm thinking I'd like to catch them in person.

Oh that would be so much fun!!!

Margo, they don't just do Celtic music...all kinds. But they have such clear, perfect voices and put things to such fantastic harmonies, it's just achingly beautiful. I think you'd like them.

Re Celtic Woman

Isn't their fiddlest fanastic? I can't imagine running around in high heels playing like she does! She's an all-Ireland fiddle champ, so yeah, she's just a bit good.

Look for their individual names on YT, also, some of the videos are listed that way or are from individual performances in other venues.

I've seen them on PBS and have one of their CD's. They are extraordinary.
