American Idol tryouts in Omaha

THEY'RE HERE......................

So, we can't go watch (which would have been fun), at least not this round. Simon, Randy and Paula won't actually be here until October to see the first round of finalists.

But they've had live crews from some of the radio stations out at the Qwest all morning, and the hopefuls that I've heard have been really, really good.

A friend's son has a wristband and is getting his 15 seconds of fame to try out. We've got our fingers crossed (he's a good looking kid, has a great voice, but there are reportedly 15,000 people trying out!)

So yeah, I will make it a point to watch it when it starts up with the Omaha season. Who knows. Maybe someone I know will go all the way......

Tell him to be good looking and have a fabulous voice and invent a quirk, problem or ... something.

He needs a quirk. Best voice in the world often won't get you through. Sob story, freakiness, etc. may get you there.

One of the radio DJs from down here was supposed to be going up to try out, not sure if he actually is or not though, I haven't heard them talk about it for a while.

They had tryouts in Dallas last week. We were out of town during them though; I would have loved to watch the media frenzy.
