| | On my way home from work I was listening to Talk of the Nation, and they were discussing the WGA strike. They were talking about what to watch if new content stops being produced.
What reruns would you want to catch up on?
I'd like to see a show from my teenage years called "My So Called Life." It starred Claire Danes, and, sometimes I felt like the writers had crawled out of my head. Plus, there was really good music on the show that seemed like it was an inside message, telling me, yea, the writers really were inside my head after all. I'd love to see the show now that I'm older and I'm sure I'd probably laugh at the 13 yr old me but I still think I would enjoy it (the same way I enjoy when Cold Case does a show from the early 1990s...)
I think I possibly would like to watch Sex in the City. I started watching it late in the series, and I never felt that close to it because I hadn't watched it from the start. |

| | There's a ton of free old shows on AOL's video site: In2TV - AOL Television
No Charles or Maude, though.

| | MASH is already available on TVLand every night. I'd want the more obscure ones, like Dobie Gillis and Mr. Ed and the shows Nick at Night used to show late at night, back in the day. And the 70's shows - I was a kid when I watched them, I'd like to see them now as an adult and see what went over my head, like Maude.

But you can see MASH reruns now.

| | the MASH on TV Land is only the 20 or 30 most beloved episodes. I mean MASH, from the pilot to the end, in order, every night. |

| | Huh. I've been watching the TV land ones recently and saw some I didn't remember before. They've been doing some theme nights or weekends, maybe that's why I didn't recognize some of the plots. They've got the entire MASH episode guide on their site, so it looks like they bought the whole MASH library, don't know why they would only air a portion.
We used to watch it every afternoon at 4pm for years in Buffalo, I got really MASH-ed out for a long time.

| | Quick plug here...Bridgette (yes OUR Bridgette) landed an interview with Hawkeye (Alan Alda) on BookHelpWeb.com How cool is that?!
Back to the discussion....since I've missed most of this year's Greys and Friday Night Lights, I'd like to get caught up if they rerun current episodes. Course, they probably won't. I really liked that they did rerun Greys on Friday nights and I could catch up, but that's not happening this year!

| | Grey's Anatomy is available on ABC.com, not sure if it's all the episodes or just the last few.
Looks like FNL is online at NBC.com, too.

As far as reruns I'd like to see, I really can't think of any. It'd be nice not to be a slave to the TV/VCR again like it is in the summer time.

| | Here's a thought...
NBC should put Battlestar Galactica on in primetime. You have three entire seasons that I'm better not a lot of America has seen. Awesome show, no repeats. I think they'd make big money and get tons of viewers that way. |

| | I saw some "person in the street" interviews (a dozen or so people) yesterday, asking what people wanted to see in the event of a long writers strike. M*A*S*H, Seinfeld, The Cosby Show, Andy Griffith, The Three Stooges, etc. were all mentioned. Not one person wanted more unscripted reality shows. Joe Sixpack recognizes the value of good writing. |

| | Our TV watching got severely curtailed when we moved. No PBS or CBS here via regular broadcast. We can pick up NBC, ABC, FOX, CW and some independent station that used to be UPN but isn't anymore. We don't do cable or dish.
I watch a couple of things online (Pushing Daisies and Samantha Who?) but other than that, pretty much nothing regular.
I feel bad that the kids can't watch their afternoon PBS shows, and really bad that DH can't watch the Saturday PBS stuff he loves, but I am thrilled at getting to cut down on TV with no fight - it's not my fault!

| | Right now we are waiting for our 2nd DVR receiver thingey to come UPS. We are getting one fuzzy channel with the rabbit ears.
This is the second time in a month we've been down to one channel.

| | As a kid growing up I called channel 8 "the green channel" because everything came in... green. I called channel 3 "the bee channel" because you could hear voices but only see "snow," which, to me, looked like bees buzzing around in a hive. I'm sorry you're having to go through that kind of television watching! I remember how much it sucked! |
