Josh Turner.

And dang! I got my nights mixed up- I thought they were on tomorrow. I'm going to watch a rerun. And thank you God that they were tonight and not next week - otherwise my hotel would be $$$$$$$$$$$!

We watched for about five minutes. There's only so much country music I can tolerate and that was well over it.

I also didn't like the booing I heard for my Chicks.

Ditto. I tried to watch just because for some reason I'm really loyal to ABC, but I eventually had to just put on the news cause all the programming last night sucked.

Re Cindy! CMA Awards

I'm not so much into country music, but I was working on some jewelry and like to have something on that I don't have to concentrate on. I can take an hour or so, especially if there's other stuff mixed in.

And honestly? Today's country music doesn't even sound like the old "cows dying" stuff from the past. More like soft rock, cross-over stuff.

I'll bring my Josh Turner CD up if it's in the car mom (not stopping by home after work) so you can listen to it. He's amazing. Unfortunately I seem to have lost his first CD, but the second it great, and I can't wait to get the third.

Lynn, I'd have given you those CD's if I'd known you liked him. We may have to do another road trip!

I'm sorry, Pippa, but I just can't find it in my heart to ever forgive them for what they did. Stevie Nicks owns 'Landslide', and you just don't mess with her.

Re Cindy! CMA Awards

I liked the Chicks version of Landslide. 'course I think Stevie Nicks is a witch and I hate Fleetwood Mac, but that's beside the point. (Nothing wrong with being a witch, I just like to say "She's a witch!" in my best Monty Python voice whenever I see or hear her.)

I'd never heard of him before, Cindy...he got up on stage and I thought Geez, he's cute! but then when he opened his mouth and started singing, I just quit working on my jewelry for 3:09. What a voice!!!

Re Cindy! CMA Awards

LMAO. You are right... the powerful voice of Natalie Maines vs. the bleating of Stevie. Definitely unforgiveable.

My favorite version, though, is Tori's.

Re Cindy! CMA Awards

My favorite comment about Stevie Nicks is she sounds like a nanny goat with a head cold.

Ah, but I hate that more than I hate "old" country.

The Iggles are cool, though. I would have enjoyed seeing them. I don't really think they're country... but, no music exists in a vaccuum so it's all influenced by something.

I totally agree! Well, except for the watching 5 minutes part. I didn't watch any of it and thats about my limit.

And The Chicks should NOT have done Landslide.

And Josh, Jeff, Jim has a great great baritone voice, but the song.....ick.
