| | I'll bet artists love it when AI singers cover their song. AI seems to bring old songs right back to life again.
The other week, Dreads boy sang Hallelujah. I had heard that song many times on television shows like CSI, and loved it. Never know who sang it. Randy mentioned two people who had done it, and even said which one was the better known. I went to iTunes and downloaded it.
Seems I'm not alone. On both Amazon and iTunes, that song leapt to the top of the songs recently downloaded.
I've heard many songs on AI that I didn't know, and then all of a sudden they were playing like mad on the radio - the original versions - not the AI one. I know AI has had trouble getting the rights to air some songs, and all I can say is those artists must be nuts. Having your song on AI seems to give it new life.

| | OK, Kristi the yodeling barrel racer or David Hernandez the boring Beatles butcher could both go this week. I also dislike Remiele and want her gone, but I think she's save this week in the face of those two. The 17 year old baby tanked as well, but he's safe because he's usually stellar, and people lurve him. Amanda I love, but I don't think she should win - entertaining but no range. Brooke I like a lot - she's engaging and in spite of her voice being good but not spectacular you find yourself wanting her to succeed. The Australian INXS Lite wannabe has got to go, but I also think he is safe this week. The goofy black guy, Chekeze or whatever? That was fun to watch although I didn't like the version. |

| | I think David Hernandez was voted off more because of the revelations about his having been a male stripper in a mostly male strip club. I do think he had one of the better voices, but when people vote they'll use all sorts of other criteria.
I'm not as big an Aucheleta fan as some others. When I see him, I think "Hobbit Idol." He has a great voice, but I don't feel the kind of charisma that sells millions of CD's.
My daughter's Forensics teacher used to talk about the "Halo effect" and that's what Brooke White has. You can practically see the rays shining out of her. I'm not overly fond of her voice, either, but she's got that 'it' factor.
I think Chikeze is a bit too old fashioned to make it much further, but I love his voice. I like Sayesha, too--her smile just lights up the room.
I like the Aussie guy, Michael Johns, but I don't have a prediction yet, or a clear favorite.
My hubby thinks Aucheleta will win Idol, followed by Carly Smithson, followed by Brooke White. |

| | my early prediction is Carly.
David was voted off because his performance was weak, though I think country girls was more weak.
I like Chikeze.
Really like Brooke.
Aussie guy is good.
David whatever is a contender.
Amanda is cool but shouldn't make it to much longer. |

| | The guys are weak this year. Early prediction is Carly vs Brooke - dark and light, good and bad, halo and horns. I think the judges are already pushing that. |

| | Btw, is anyone else getting really annooyed by the bitchiness level betweenRyan Seacrest and Simon? First it was funny, then annoying, and on Tuesday Seacrest nearly forgot to give one of the contestant's numbers. It's really beginning to be a bit much, I think. Way worse than last year. maybe since Simon is nicer this year, the villain mustache has to be worn by someone else? |

| | When Jason was in the bottom 3 tonight I really hoped America might have chosen correctly.
He hiccups while he sings with that goofy-eyed smile....Puh-lease.
I thought Sayesha and Chikeze deserved to stay far more than him.... |

| | Did the audience decide right? Well, they should have gotten rid of Jason Castro for the past few weeks, and they haven't figured it out yet, although he was in the bottom two last week.
I do think they voted right in not putting Sayesha in the bottom three. |

| | The right person went home, I think. And Brooke got a reality check that she isn't a shoo in. I'm thinking Jason may not go, because he seems to have that fake "sincere" thing down that has kept contestants into the higher rounds in the past.
If the performances remain on track, staying the same, I see next week's bottom three possibly being: Kristy, Sayesha and hmmm, either Aussie guy or David A, because those have the hardest time reaching the audience, and have a hard time with consistency.
I don't see dreads and other good but bland going yet because they connect with the audience, and they are consistent week to week in performance. Hiding in plain sight. |

| | Kristy is just bad, she always seems way out of her league. Last week's song choice made me roll me eyes- no one gets voted off for singing I'm Proud To Be An American, it'd be like kicking a puppy. This week I can't even remember what she sang. They did get rid of the right one - thank God! - but I so hope that Kristy is next. | |
