| | I liked him, too, Cindy.
And the sweet young Mom, the wedding singer, with the disabled daughter.
My hubby, of course, loved the Oregon blonde! (I thought she was really good, too....) |

| | Chris who BUTCHERED the lyrics for a really well known Uncle Kracker song and no one called him on it. And his voice was mediocre, dreads and all.
Glitter chick - what a train wreck. |

| | OMG, this is the first year I've watched it and couldn't stop laughing.
Yeah, Chris butchered the lyrics, but the minute I saw his face, I said "If he has any kind of a voice, he'll be in...he's got the look."
And Star Wars Girl...yeah, she's a dork. You betcha.

| | We started watching but stopped and switched to another program. We've watched every one of them since they started and we're tired of the judges laughing at people that are really trying. We'll start watching again when the auditions are over. |

| | I thought the judges were a bit kinder last night than last year- with the exception of the Go Dwon Moses guy. If you look carefully, you'll see that the guy has a tongue-tie and probably a cleft palate, not repaired very well. Ok, his voice still sucked, but laughing at him was really cruel.
And yay Oregon chick! I hope she does really well. Selma was the nearest town to my summer job when I was a fire lookout person. It had a gas station and store and not a lot else. |

| | I honestly don't think that they MEAN to laugh at people, but sometimes you just can't help yourself. What I want to know is where the support people are for these folks, and why they let them go on!
I was reading some blog this morning though who was chanting the same thing about that girl with the daughter with Rett's: "Please send her to Hollywood. Please send her to Hollywood."
I know they come up with some schmaltzy stories about these people, but I really think she meant it when she said she wanted to be able to afford the best therapists for her daughter. |

| | I missed Oregon girl. I watched up until the "Go Dwon Moses" guy, as Cindy called him. After that I just couldn't stand watching the judges laughing at people. I will come back when the actual show starts... |

| | Most of the people know they will be laughed at. They sign a release before the show airs on television. I noticed the judges are always sensitive toward people that are bad singers but may not know better, like Down Syndrome girl from last year, and the girl who played football and was singing for her sick mom last night. But the rest of them know what's coming on TV. |

| | The one who got me was glitter girl. They were NOT rude to her. They told her that she might consider singing in a 60's cover band, but never insulted her voice or her. She was polite in the room and perfectly fine. Then, she came out of the room and pulled that stunt , in my opinion, to get on television.
In general, I think the judges were MUCH more polite this year. I would still rather not see the loser brigade at the auditions though. They must have hundreds of talented singers audition. Why not show them and show that the ones they pick are the best of the best?

| | Oh, and some of these people must have EVIL, NASTY, SPITEFUL coworkers. It seems every year, we get somebody with limited intelligence and no singing ability who says their coworkers insisted they try out.

| | I know, Amy - I don't get that. Who on earth would tell those folks that they are singers? Sad.
Oh! The other sort of mean passive-aggressive thing from last night was when they got the guy wearing the kisrt and bra to go have his chest waxed. WTF? |

| | I'm guessing they are told they are "really good" at drunk karaoke night.
No one has mentioned the stalker guy. If he was doing it as a stunt, it was brilliant and funny. (I noticed he was 32, so disqualified anyway.)
If he wasn't... lock him up and have him followed......

| | Yeah, I think the stalker guy was great. It was pretty clear based on the lyrics of the song that the whole creepy face and moving closer and closer was a shtick.

| | So, what did y'all think of Dallas?
Not so much on the cute farmer - he doesn't have any stage presence and will be ousted early. And there were a couple of others who were "okay" but I really didn't | |
