Question Help finding a song

This might be tough. I've tried google-ing what I can remember of this song, but got nothing.

Late 90's, maybe early 2000's. Alt Rock, Pop format.

The song was based on a true story (I think) of an older couple who one day just decided to pack up their stuff and leave their home.

I can't remember a single lyric or the artist.

But I really like the song, and want to get it on iTunes (then I won't forget what it is!!!)

Any ideas? If I even saw the lyrics, I'd know it was the right one.

Yay, I remembered!!

Fastball: The Way

Downloading now. Along with Puddle of Mudd and "tusk" (one of the few Fleetwood Mac songs I like).

Re Help finding a song

they still play that song a lot of the radio.

I think its a true story about a couple that went out to meet their family for some sort of reunion. They had early dimentia or alzheimers and just got hopelessly lost. I don't remember if the real life story had a happy or sad ending though.

Re Help finding a song

The Way (song) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
Fastball bassist Tony Scalzo came up with the idea for the song after reading journalistic articles which described the disappearance of an older married couple, Raymond and Lela Howard from Salado, Texas, who left home in June of 1997 to attend a family reunion but never arrived[1]. They were discovered two weeks later, dead, at the bottom of a ravine near Hot Springs, Arkansas, hundreds of miles off their intended route[2].

Re Help finding a song

LOL, I like the song though.

I never hear it on the radio...that's part of the reason I couldn't remember any of it for the life of me.
