Re RIP George Carlin

Youth, shmooth. I quoted him in a presentation I did for church just a few weeks ago. When you got past the asocial curmudgeon, he had some excellent insights into human behavior and the human condition.

Re RIP George Carlin

This has been the suckiest, suckiest, suckiest, suckiest year for people we have lost in a long time.

I am going to stop reading the news.

Re RIP George Carlin

He was a big part of my youth, too....

And whenever I caught him on Leno or Letterman in his later years I was always happy to see that he was still at the top of his game, despite his health challenges.

Can heaven be a happier place than it was yesterday? With George Carlin there, I think it can.

Re RIP George Carlin

I didn't grow up with Carlin, because of his profanity, of course. (Did you know when he first started out, he tried clean comedy first, but couldn't find his stride that way?) But I adored him as Mr. Conductor on Shining Time Station.

Re RIP George Carlin

Oh man I adored George Carlin. He sort of reminded me of Tipu in that they both really made you look long and hard at yourself sometimes. Tipu just didn't swear when he did it.

Re RIP George Carlin

I heard this on my drive to kickboxing class this am. What a sad, sad day. He was very astute and really said what a lot of people felt but couldn't say.

He will certainly be missed. My understanding was he was still performing as of last week. He always did what he loved. RIP
