| | Anyone remember the poisoned envelope Seinfeld episode?? They're refusing to re-run it after the events of 9-11. http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,9040,00.html
Thoughts?

| | Since I’m one of 42 people on Earth who’s never watched an entire episode of Seinfeld, I doubt that it will affect me much.
I just don’t see it as a big deal. If a privately owned company chooses to run or not run a particular episode of a TV show, they’ve got every right to do so. |

| | I remember they took some flack about it at the time, saying it wasn't really appropriate for a comedy and seemed thrown-together. I just thought that episode was stupid and not funny, not because I thought poisoning the character was offensive but because the writing just wasn't amusing in the least. Definitely NOT one of their better episodes and I sure won't miss it.

| | Better dump the one where Kramer cancels his mail too, huh?
I'm gonna move us over to the Reel People forum.
Andrea
who has threatened to cancel her mail just like Kramer 10 times the last few days

| | | Wasn't there a Simpsons episode where Homer's car has been parked between the Twin Towers by Barney?
Will the Powers That Be double-plus-unwrite that episode, too? |

| | I can understand temporarily pulling certain episodes from circulation during a critical time. But I hope they don't start whole-sale destruction and revision of history, even the relatively minor cultural elements of history like Simpsons episodes or Seinfeld (btw, I'm one of the 42 with erik_kosberg who never saw an entire episode). |

| | I remember the episode. Now, who exactly is that episode hurting? I'm baffled. Just because it involved an envelope?
I guess we can forget about seeing airplanes in our sitcoms, too. Write your congressperson next time you see one on TV. |

| | This past weekend, USA or one of those other show-rerun-movies-to-death stations was scheduled to show Airplane. They substituted Naked Gun 2 1/2. Perhaps they thought it was long enough after 9/11 to be safe, but then with the plane falling into the Rockaways...

It wasn't funny, either. | | |
