| | Let's try one more. It'll be maybe a wee bit tougher so I'll start off with a couple of basic clues right away:
1) Made after 1950
2) Yes, made in color
3) American film (boy, is it an American film)
Okay, there go your clues to start off with. Go for it.
P.S. In deference to my pal, Grouch, I specifically did not pick something scored by John Williams. |

| | Good questions:
Answer 1: The songs (soundtrack is mostly score, not songs) are not mostly instrumentals.
Answer 2: The movie is not Grease (although VH1 played the heck out of that one this week) |

If so, did it win?

| | Were the songs written originally for the movie
(the songs, not the score)?
Were the songs recorded (re-done) specifically for the movie?
Sounds like several featured songs in the movie didn't make it onto the soundtrack... true?

Answer 3: The music was nominated for an Academy Award.
Answer 4: The movie is not a musical.
Answer 5: The songs were (for the most part) originally done for the movie. They are clearly identified as "belonging" to that movie.
Answer 6: Even a featured song sung by the cast (oy, what a clue!) made it on to the soundtrack. |
