I just saw a commercial for tomorrow's Oprah show (1/30/02) WED and it will have David Pelzer on.

I have probably read all the reviews on this book but have yet to borrow it from the library.

I posted this in case any of the early risers wanted to tape it before heading out the door in the AM.

It has actually morphed into a trilogy: A Child Called "It": One Child's Courage to Survive, The Lost Boy: A Foster Child's Search for the Love of a Family, and A Man Named Dave: A Story of Triumph and Forgiveness.

They are all equally moving and not for the squeamish. The fact that any person, let alone mother, could do that to a child is beyond belief. Not to mention that others could stand by and do nothing. I believe of somewhere around 35,000 reported cases of child abuse in California, his case was ranked third. After reading of his horror I could not even begin to imagine what the other two children experienced.
