| | Okay, new mystery movie.
And here's your first (and only) hint: according to eplovejoy this movie has not been selected before.
Fire away...

| | Is it in English?
Any Oscar nominations? If so, any wins?
Was it released in 1978? Or 1987, perhaps? Is "78" part of the title?

From BADEL.NET: JERRY SEINFELD: Why does anyone cross a road? I mean, why doesn't anyone ever think to ask, "What the heck was this chicken doing walking around all over the place, anyway?"

Is it set in England? Scotland? You would ask that. I don't believe one can accurately say where this one's set. (Note: there's various locales and I'm looking at one review that states a principle city in the film is "nameless". I could be wrong--and I'll do some research--but, right now, I'll have to say I don't know)

| | Is the story about politics? Well, one aspect of the film is political...but the story, itself, is not about politics. So, no.
War? No...at least not directly
Religion? No
Does it contain elements of fantasy? Yes
Has the male lead ever been nominated for an Oscar? Ever won? Yes. And yes. (Note: "male lead" is not the first person listed in IMDb.com's credits who, as already implied, is also male. It appears, at least for this film, that IMDb is listing performers in order of appearance)

Are there any portions of the movie which have subtitles? No...not that I recall FYI: It was asked if the setting was England or Scotland. While I still stand by my original answer that there are various locales and that I don't believe it can be determined, I did notice that IMDb does list filming locations and--if one were to go by that--the answer would be no.
