| | Day 2 - Tuesday's Official Secret Santa Game Thread | |
You better watch out.
You better not cry.
You better not pout.
I’m telling you why -
Santa Worm is coming to town!
Delivering gifts,
And spreading delight.
Laughing her butt off
When your guesses aren’t right.
Santa Worm is coming to town.
She sees you when you’re posting.
She knows when you’re on-line.
She knows if you’ve been mean or nice
So please treat each other fine!
Oh, you better spread joy.
You better have fun.
We’ll keep sending presents
Till the gift gaming is done.
Santa Worm is coming to town! !santa

| | Hmm Someone who reads me.
Hey Worm, to help the guesses can you post a list of Santas after your poem? I forget who else is doing this, so I'm sticking with my guess of jsgodess. |

| | Today's gift from my Secret Santa: Quote: MJ is sweet,
No doubt about it,
As sweet as the treat
With the yellow wrapper 'round it.
But I'm sure the wrapper
Doesn't do her face justice
I better she looks dapper,
Like Jaime Lee Curtis.
But her visage is not posted
Across the Epinions screen.
Her look-a-like, she boasted,
Can be seen on Halloween! | There was a picture of Mary Jane from the candy wrapper - quite cute, I'll have to figure out how to change that to my avatar, it's clearer than what I use now! The other image, alas, did not show
As to who it is, I'm still clueless!

| | My Secret Santa wants to make sure I don't go hungry. Quote:
Here's your next snack... Hope this will fill your tummy and put you in the right mood for tomorrow's gift.
Now I just have to figure out where to find a picture of tomorrow's gift. Nothing like waiting til the last minute (and that's all the hint you're getting today. Well, that and if you notice any of my typical typos. )
Ho Ho Ho!!
|
I'd try to guess but I'm too busy chowing down.

I got two stories/poems from my SS that give the facts, just the facts, that Santa is actually a woman. I won't reprint them here (they're pretty long, but hilarious!) but if anyone wants me to share, PM me and I'll forward. Here's one of my favorite clips, however: Quote:
I came across these things while surfing the net. I hope you enjoy reading them. Another problem for a he-Santa would be getting there. First of all, there would be no reindeer because they would all be dead, gutted, and strapped on to the rear bumper of the sleigh, amid wide-eyed, desperate claims that buck season had been extended. Blitzen's rack would already be on the way to the taxidermist. |
I'm sticking with my earlier guess that my SS is dragonfire88 - Marie. No man would send out an email that Santa is a woman!

Today brings you four tickets to Aimee's Dinner and a Movie house. Enjoy the show while feasting on a delicious meal with your family.
Hint #2 I joined EA within the first few months
| Hmmmm, Lynn doesn't qualify for hint #2, so I'll change my guess to Cristina1.
EDIT - Sara! After more investigation, I'm changing my guess to Sara!

| | I got some neat beeswax today. This is getting harder. This secret santa likes gaming and is handy with the computer/ops. My brain is twisted and getting worn out trying to figure this out. lol
Here is todays gift! Quote:
Since I heard you like Burt's Bees, I thought I'd order some for you from Drugstore.com - after all, you rated the store pretty highly. So while you're doing all that on-line Christmas shopping, pamper yourself too!
Sorry the image of one of your earlier presents wasn't attached properly. You'd think I especially would know how to do computer stuff by now.
From your secret !santa

| | Oooh, baseball gifts! *jumping up and down*
How about my PITCHING in with Santa himself to make your holiday a home run?
Celebrate the Sox with SantaSox
and
See Christmas through Sox colored glasses
and
Play monopoly with the Sox to while away the hours until baeball season...
Still too many possibilities for me to hazard a guess just yet ... my Secret Santa is probably avoiding the obvious gift so as not to give herself away.

| | I was bad. I got a song from my Secret Santa and forgot to post it: Quote: Mary Jane
words: unknown / music: Melissa D. Binde
*Mary Jane was a farmer's daughter.
*Mary Jane did what she oughter. She
*fell in love, but all in vain!
*Oh poor Mary, oh poor Jane. | Very cool - since usually I hear Rick James' "Mary Jane" (it's about marijuana) sung to me when people learn my name. Occasionally I'll get Tom Petty's "Last Dance with Mary Jane," or even "Goodbye Mary, Goodbye Jane, will we ever meet again" from Supertramp. But this one is brand-new to me!
Maybe Redlass?

| | I'm going to toss in two guesses. Drmomentun or nicholmere. I think that Drmomentum may be a closer match. Games and computer savvy. Ok. Those are raw guesses on my part. I have to think on this some more. |

| | I'm feeling so spoiled! I got to dally with Edmund Spenser this morning (don't tell my husband, please!). I've really got to read the rest of the poem.
And can someone tell me whether the references to Gloriana were a nod and bow to his Queen? and the Faerieland a reference to England?
Er, wait, I should tell you first what I got, right? Quote:
The subject of this painting is based on a passage from Edmund Spenser's Faerie Queene. I know that you can appreciate fine art as you do poetry. I am very happy that you enjoyed the first poem that I sent.
And the poem that I know you'll adore:
From the Faerie Queene
A gentle Knight was pricking on the plaine,
Y cladd in mightie armes and siluer shielde,
Wherein old dints of deepe wounds did remaine,
The cruell markes of many' a bloudy fielde;
Yet armes till that time did he neuer wield:
His angry steede did chide his foming bitt,
As much disdayning to the curbe to yield:
Full iolly knight he seemd, and faire did sitt,
As one for knightly giusts and fierce encounters fitt.
But on his brest a bloudie Crosse he bore,
The deare remembrance of his dying Lord,
For whose sweete sake that glorious badge he wore,
And dead as liuing euer him ador'd:
Vpon his shield the like was also scor'd,
For soueraine hope, which in his helpe he had:
Right faithfull true he was in deede and word,
But of his cheere did seeme too solemne sad;
Yet nothing did he dread, but euer was ydrad.
Vpon a great aduenture he was bond,
That greatest Gloriana to him gaue,
That greatest Glorious Queene of Faerie lond,
To winne him worship, and her grace to haue,
Which of all earthly things he most did craue;
And euer as he rode, his hart did earne
To proue his puissance in battell braue
Vpon his foe, and his new force to learne;
Vpon his foe, a Dragon horrible and stearne.
A louely Ladie rode him faire beside,
Vpon a lowly Asse more white then snow,
Yet she much whiter, but the same did hide
Vnder a vele, that wimpled was full low,
And ouer all a blacke stole she did throw,
As one that inly mournd: so was she sad,
And heauie sat vpon her palfrey slow:
Seemed in heart some hidden care she had,
and by her in a line a milke white lambe she lad.
So pure and innocent, as that same lambe,
She was in life and euery vertuous lore,
And by descent from Royall lynage came
Of ancient Kings and Queenes, that had of yore
Their scepters stretcht from East to Westerne shore,
And all the world in their subiection held;
Till that infernall feend with foule vprore
Forwasted all their land, and them expeld:
Whom to auenge, she had this Knight from far cõpeld
-- Edmund Spenser
The second hint to my identity
The art and poetry may surprise you as well as any one else. I am not too poetic when I speak. But as a hint to you, you are not that familiar with me. Only in passing really, but you should know that I care for the most unfortunate animals. Those who no body else wants nor has the time for. My heart is big but my temper is short.
| Isn't the picture pretty?
And I'm going to make my husband read the poem out loud to me after he gets home from rehearsal tonight.
I'm guessing my Secret Santa might be bluehawq--I know she's a huge animal lover and seems like just the sort of big hearted person who would take care of unwanted animals.
Then again, big-hearted describes many others on the list too, so I'll wait to see tomorrow's hint.

| | I didn't publish yesterday's entry from my secret Santa. I guess I'm being a little selfish.
So far I've loved what I've gotten. Yesterday was poker-related stuff (mentioned below). Today, this person posted a link to my favorite MST3K episode: Quote:
On EAs next day of Christmas, Secret Santa sent JP: Season 4, Episode 416
A Joel and Bots poster, Episode 416 link,
And some cards, chips and Susan Lay-zee!
Revel in the Pre-Mike era of MST3K today!!!
Today's clue: MWF desperately seeking housekeeper, cook, and .... to be continued... | I'm keeping my guesses to myself for now...

Where I live it's snowing right now. So enjoy this:
Tee hee,
-Your Secret Santa
| It's not snowing in Connecticut from what I can see. So, Margaret is out. I am currently reindexing our search engine to include 3 letter words and am searching for the gigglers in the crowd that use the phrase "tee hee".
For now, I am going to guess Cindy (has a very hard name)

We have a house rule for one of the games we frequently play in our house:
"There shall be no tee heeing during Nuclear War."
Course, Shelly and I always ignored that rule...

| | My Secret Santa sent me flowers today (accompanied by calming music). If anyone else wants to give a listen go here: http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/flowers/index.htm
and enter this number to access the card: 126996258632
No hints yet, but I think my Secret Santa is a woman. She also seems to know how stressed out I tend to get.
