It would appear that many people knew the correct definition, I on the other hand had never heard the word before.

Cruet sets were very popular in the 1960s or 70s.

Lots of old people still display them in their homes.

I'm sure some younger people do too... don't get me wrong But... it's one of those things that's not the most useful, and is used more for display, generally.
