Was the rope breakage intentional?
Was the bell ringing a signal for something?

Was the bell ringing a signal for something? In a way, yes.
Was the rope controlling the bell? If you mean did it control whether the bell rang or not, the answer is no. |

Is the death intentional? (Either murder or by law?)

Could the man hear the bell before he died?
Was it a Taco Bell?

If so, was the accident caused by the bell's ringing?

Did the bell ring inspite or because of the rope breaking? In spite of. | I thought I had it, until this answer.
Are the three events listed in the order they occurred: rope; bell; death? |

All I can think about is the solution to Dorothy Sayers' Nine Tailors--a mystery concerning bell-ringing. I don't know that one. How does it go?
