| | "The Deadly Drink" (new lateral thinking puzzle) | | Here's another lateral thinking puzzler, which I found on the web:
Two men enter a bar. They are served identical drinks. One lives; the other dies. Why?
My PM box is now open. |

| | Re: "The Deadly Drink" (new lateral thinking puzzle) | | Are the drinks poisoned?
Does the deadly drink interact with something the man ingested (food, medicine, etc.)?
Do the men differ vastly in weight?
Since you've already shot done my PM'ed suggestion that the second man sees the first man dying and decides not to drink his, let me confirm: do both men actually drink what they are served? |

| | Re: "The Deadly Drink" (new lateral thinking puzzle) | | HHm. That kills my guess. I thought it was 2-4-1 night and the second guy drank the first guys 2nd drink so guy one killed guy 2.
Then I thought that Guy 1 was important and Guy 2 was the one who tasted his food to make sure it wasn't poisoned. That doesn't work now either. |

Is the story from The Princess Bride? Inconceivable! | Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father: prepare to die.
Back to the real game....
Was there any substance on the glass itself?

| | Re: "The Deadly Drink" (new lateral thinking puzzle) | | Was one man immune to the poison?
Was there the same amount of poison in each glass?
Did one man eat more prior to having the drink to absorb some of the shock of the poison? Is that even possible to happen?

| They are served, but it doesn't say that they both drank. Did one man sip his beverage (or leave it sitting on the bar) while the other gulped his, and the one who gulped his died, and the other one did not drink his at all (or very little)?

Actually, the guy who died drank his more slowly, while the one who lived gulped his down. |
