I worked in a newsroom during those years. It's one of the reasons my husband won't play the 90s Trivial Pursuit games with me. 'Course with my memory being what it has been this year, he could probably do OK.

Hmmm, good point. Technically he is a puppet, not a cartoon.
He was definitely around in 1993, though. He was even one of the floats that appeared in Bill Clinton's inaugural parade (how's that for useless trivia?). I was also quite grateful that he was waning in popularity by 1998 when my son was born. I'd already bought several of his stuffed animals for my nieces.

I would have said Barney, but felt it was a trick question, as he is live action... annoyingly live action.
Although, there existed an animated computer game that used the Doom machine, allowing annoyed parents to shoot down the purple menace.

My excuse is that I was out of the country for the first 7 months of 1993. For the rest of the year, I was in college and didn't watch the news.

I changed my answer from the right one to the wrong one on the cartoon one. I thought I /almost/ got tricked. It's a trick-trick question!
I had trouble on the sports and politics questions. Sports I never know, and politics I didn't care about since I was a sophmore in HS.
I ended up with a 72%. I want a recount with that cartooon question 
And yeah... I can tell you who I babysat for in 1993, and his favorite show was the one in question... bah. |

Ha! 72% which I think is pretty good considering I was pregnant and had a baby that year.
I must concur with the others that the trick question on the cartoon is a trick and I missed it.
