Due to some telegraphic mixups, the Italian army stationed in the Piedmont pointed the traditional fireworks cannons towards Marseilles rather than out over the bay as they should have been instructed to do. I hope there are no hard feelings. The general in charge has been removed and his family ostrich plumes confiscated for the good of the empire.

Lady Margarethe's Sweden Army holds, - Note: The German unit in Sweden is a Fleet, not an army. This does not alter the unit's final location, since it is staying put. However, incorrectly naming the type of a unit might result in an invalid order depending on what the unit is ordered to do.
and finally, Lady Margarethe's Ruhr Army moves to Holland

The schedule remains the same though, ie. you have until Thursday at 9 PM to submit your orders for builds/disbands.

Build and Disband Information
Your builds and/or disbands must be submitted by 9 PM EST on Thursday, February 7th.
You may only build a unit on one of your home provinces, and it must be one of the provinces with a supply center.
Here is an example of a valid build order:
-Great Power Name- would like to build a -unit type (fleet or army)- in -province name-.
Here is an example of a valid disband order:
-Great Power Name- would like to disband the -unit type (fleet or army)- in -province name-.
Note: If you are building a fleet on a province that has two coasts, eg. St. Petersburg, you would have to specify which coast (North or South).

I would like to comment on some of the orders that have failed because they were invalid. My apologies in advance to those whose orders I am singling out as invalid, it's nothing personal


An order to support another unit to move must include the following:
- The type and current location of the unit providing the support
- The type, current location, and destination of the unit receiving the support.

This order,
The Italian Fleet in the Western Mediterranean supports the other Italian Fleet's move to the Gulf of Lyons,
failed because it did not specify the current location of the unit receiving the support.

This order,
The Anvil of Allah regiment, stationed in Sevastapol, supports an Austrian advance into Ukraine.,
failed because it did not specify the type or current location of the unit receiving the support.

Compare that to this successful convoy order combination:

Her Majesty's Army in London crosses the North Sea into Norway.
Her Majesty's Fleet in the North Sea convoys the above-referenced army from London into Norway.

Although the second order said "above-referenced army" it still gave the current location of the Army. If the orders had been written as:
Her Majesty's Army in London crosses the North Sea into Norway.
Her Majesty's Fleet in the North Sea convoys the above-referenced army into Norway.

It would have been invalid and would have failed. Each unit's order must contain the required sections - type and current location of the supporting/convoying unit and the type, current location, and destination of the unit receiving support to move or convoyed.


In each of three examples of invalid orders it would have been possible for me to assume what the intent was, however as GM I cannot process the orders based on assumptions. I am certain I would be right 90% of the time , but ruling based on my assumptions would reduce my ability to remain impartial. Besides, there is always the possibility that the order was deliberately written in an invalid format. If you are in doubt as to how an order, (support, convoy, hold, or move) would be processed please feel free to ask in advance.

Apart from the occasional invalid order I think that everyone has done quite well with their order writing so far. I certainly appreciate all the humour and unique writing styles that everyone has shown. You have shown that order writing does not have to be just a F BLAH to BLAH, as long as you incorporate all the necessary parts to make a valid order then you can be as creative as you wish with the rest of the order. In fact we at the GM headquarters and your observers our there in the cyber bleachers are counting on it

On the other hand the history seems to be destined to repeat itself: the revolution did not take hold of Germany. Probably the Polish stopped Communism again. As a matter of fact Kaizer looks ready for some real dance, let's prepare the floor!

I'm all for regatta we were observing this fall as long as my dancing shoes don't get wet.

Pardon me, but I would like a moment to discuss the recent turn of events within this forum.

Lady Katherine, our beloved GM, has just suggested a way for us to submit our orders in a way that is both efficient, yet entertaining.

I do not believe that she meant to single out any of these wonderful countries who are represented here. I do believe we may see some interesting orders in the future, however.
