Unhappy Russia.

As 1903 draws to a close we must acknowledge that the first great power has fallen from the game. Yes, the time has come to say farewell to the leader of Russia. Do any of the remaining players wish to say a few kind words to the Tsarina Lynne?

Oops. Lady Margarethe took a very quick ship from Germany to New York, and totally missed the fact that she could have built, due to lack of a computer. Germany is not in a state of disorder, and rest assured that Lady Margarethe is back from New York (like I said, das is quick ship).

I had left orders with Fifi to keep abreast of this thread, but she assures me she was too busy to bother. She has had a lot of tail-chaising to do as of late.

Alas, my appologies, but Germany remains as strong and unified as ev... er... as much as she has been lately, for the most part

Lady Margarethe

From chair of DBS

While it was the Austrian Army what delivered the final blow, the Russian Empire was partitioned by three powers. Yes indeed it's a time of reflection on how the mighty can fall when diplomatic relations fail. It also shows the strength of cooperation and civil relations. I hope Tzarina shall be back for the next game.

Hey, no hard feelings? I guess, after all, you could have every reason to call me Roob von Schnitzer... Let's do the time-warp again!

1904 Spring Orders

The following are the orders received by your OyI-GM Katrinka.

All orders were successful unless otherwise indicated.

Austria-Hungary
Austrian troupe engages in a very aggressive offensive to kill some
time...

Army Budapest holds (gypsy wagon painting session, some troops started even shooting the paint out of their rifles. They claim it's fun; this will never catch on...)

Army Serbia holds (development of 250% proof slivovica in final stages)

Army Silesia moves to Munich (chronic shortness of beer to be remedied)

Army Ukraine holds (they are still snowed in and don't expect any news until June)

Army Warsaw holds (search for the treasure of Templars is initiated)

Fleet Ionian Sea holds (antique vases must be scrubbed)

Fleet Trieste paddles to Albania (to start the engines, they need to fuel up on Montenegro rum)

Who says a war can't be civilized?

England
Her Majesty's Fleet, continuing its intensive course in the language of Chekhov and Pushkin, holds in St. Petersburg. GM Note: The English unit in St. Petersburg is an army, not a fleet. This does not alter the unit's final location, since it is staying put. However, incorrectly naming the type of a unit might result in an invalid order depending on what the unit is ordered to do.

Her Majesty's Fleet in Norway once again sallies forth into the North Sea.

- Failed - Her Majesty's Fleet in the English Channel sets sail for Belgium, in order to replenish the mother country's supplies of Belgian waffles. - The German Army in Belgium is able to fend off the attack of the English Fleet from the English Channel because the expected support from the English Army in Picardy was cut by an attack from the French Army in Burgandy -

- Failed - Her Majesty's Army in Picardy supports the above-referenced fleet's move from the English Channel into Belgium. - The English Army in Picardy is attacked by the French Army from Bugandy, therefore the support from the English Army in Picardy is cut. -

- Failed - Her Majesty's Army in Brest, having heard much about the wine, women, and song of the French capital, advances on Paris. - The French Army in Paris did not leave Paris, therefore the English Army from Brest may not occupy Paris. -

- Failed - Her Majesty's Fleet in the Mid-Atlantic pays a visit to the lovely territory of Gascony. - The French Fleet in Gascony did not leave Gascony, therefore the English Fleet from the Mid-Atlantic may not occupy Gascony. -

France

- Failed - The French Fleet in Gascony moves into Brest - The English Army did not leave Brest, therefore the French Fleet from Gascony may not take Brest. -

- Failed - The French Army in Paris Supports the French Fleet's move into Brest. - Invalid support order. Please see the on-line rules page seven, the section "Writing a Support Order" - The support order must include the "... type, current location, and destination of the unit receiving support ..." -

- Failed - The French Army in Burgandy moves Into Picardy
- The French Army in Burgandy is unable to move to Picardy because Picardy is occupied by an English Army. - GM Note: Even though the French Army in Burgandy could not move to Picardy, its single handed attack on Picardy was sufficient to cut the support of the English Army in Picardy, thereby preventing the English Fleet in the English Channel from ousting the German Army in Belgium.

Germany
- Failed - The Bold Belgium Army supports French Army Burgundy move to Picardy. - This is a correctly worded support order. The reason it failed is that the English Fleet's attack from the English Channel on the province of Belgium cut the German Army's support for the French Army's attempt to move from Burgandy to Picardy -

The kinky Keil Army moves to Denmark

- Failed - The lively Livonia Army moves to St Petersburg - The Army is Livonia is unable to move to St. Petersburg because St. Petersburg is occupied by an English Army -

The randy Ruhr Army moves to Holland

The sweet Fleet in Sweeden moves to Norway

And lastly, the dashing Denmark Fleet moves to Skagerrak

Italy
MNM, Diva of all the Italies wishes to announce the following moves for her
illustrious fleets and armies.

1. Her fleet, on the South coast of Spain, holds it position in order to further enjoy the delights of the Costa del Sol.

2. Her army in the Piedmont, moves to Marseilles in order to attend the Cannes Film Festival.

3. Her fleet in the Gulf of Lyons supports the move of her army from the Piedmont to Marseilles and will also attend Cannes.

4. Her army in Venice will move to the Piedmont in order to visit the Piazza de Miracoli in Pisa.

5. Her fleet in Naples sets sail for the Tyrrhenian sea on routine naval exercises.

Turkey
- Civil Disorder - - No Orders were received for the following units:
Army Bulgaria
Army Constantinople
Army Moscow
Fleet Agean Sea
Fleet Black Sea
Fleet Eastern Mediterranean

Tell me about it. I had all my little wooden pieces going round and round my board just to make sure I had worked out all the possible combinations of attacks and supports.

It was a very interesting round, to say the least. I look forward to seeing what everyone does in the Fall.

MNM, Diva of all the Italies, is most pleased at the successes of her fleets and armies. She congratulates them all and will be throwing an intimate little soiree at her Villa in Capri for the representatives of the great powers. Pasta and chianti will be served.

Hello Great Leaders and Interested Readers,

Our Diplomacy Game One has a new home! We are now happily located in EA's new forum: The Games People Play

Since the games forum is new I think we should promise the mods, drmomentum and Redlass, that we will play nice and clean up after ourselves. That means no blood on the carpets, don't bury the bodies in the flower beds, and don't pour your poisoned wine into the forum's punch bowl, okay? As we move further into the game there is bound to be more than a little backstabbing, so please do your best to be tidy. All our luggage should have moved with us, but if you are missing any of your supplies please submit a detailed list of the missing items and I'll see what I can do.

Play on!

Reminder: 1904 Fall moves are due Tuesday March 5th. Fall is the time to gain and protect your supply centers. Good Luck!

It might be of interest for some leaders to know that a coup d’etat just happened in Austria. The passive policies of Roob von Boob are finished.

All orders were successful unless otherwise indicated.

To Katherine, the Omnipotent Moderator
The chair of Danube Ballroom Society has been relieved of command duties by the first chair of violin section. (Yes, the chairs are popular around here) Everybody has enough of his tu-tu anyway. Boooring!

Fall of 1904 shall awake with Austrian symphony:

Army Budapest moves to Rumania, die Ouvertüre

Army Munich holds, der Auftakt

Army Serbia supports Fleet Albania move to Greece, das Andante

Army Ukraine supports Army Warsaw move to Moscow, Berceuse

Army Warsaw moves to Moscow, die Phantasie

Fleet Albania moves to Greece, Arabesque

- Failed -
Fleet Ionian Sea supports Fleet Albania move to Greece. Humoresque
- The Turkish fleet ordered from the Eastern Mediterranean to the Ionian Sea cuts the support offered by the Austrian Fleet in the Ionian Sea to the Austrian Fleet's move from Albania to Greece. -

Ulrich der Geigenspieler

England
To the most esteemed Diplomacy GM,

Enclosed please find England's moves for the Fall 1904 season, as follows:

- Failed -
Her Majesty's Fleet in the North Sea moves into Norway to replace its recently-mislaid herring recipes.
- Norway is occupied by a German fleet, therefore the English Fleet from the North Sea may not enter to search for its recipes without the support of another unit. The English Army in St. Petersburg ordered to support the English fleet's move from the North Sea to Norway could not provide the needed support since it was attacked by a German Army coming from Livonia. -

- Failed -
Her Majesty's Army in St. Petersburg supports the above-referenced fleet's move from the North Sea to Norway.
- The German's attack with its Army from Livonia to St. Petersburg prevents the English Army in St. Petersburg from offering support to the English Fleet's attempt to move from the North Sea to Norway. -

Her Majesty's Fleet in the Mid-Atlantic sails to Portugal for an intensive language course.

- Failed -
Her Majesty's Fleet in the English Channel, having grown tired of crumpets for breakfast, sails for Belgium so that it may purchase some of that country's waffles.
- The German Army in Belgium prevents the English fleet's move from the English Channel to Belgium. Although the English fleet failed to move from the English Channel, its attack on Belgium prevented the German Army in Belgium from supporting the French Army's move from Burgundy to Picardy.

- Failed -
Her Majesty's Army in Picardy advances on Paris, in response to an advertisement for English-language teachers in the Gallic capital.
- The French Army occupying Paris prevents the English Army's move from Picardy to Paris. The support offered by the English Army in Brest for the English Army's move from Picardy to Paris was cut by an attack from a French fleet's attempt to move from Gascony to Brest. -

- Failed -
Her Majesty's Army in Brest supports the above-referenced army's move from Picardy to Paris.
- The support offered by the English Army in Brest for the English Army's move from Picardy to Paris was cut by an attack from a French fleet's attempt to move from Gascony to Brest. -
