| | To all powers.
As the goverments dissolve in Europe and civil disorder is unchecked, some steps must be taken. Hereby, Austria offers draw to all powers on the board. The hostile actions would be halted and give place to immediate peace negotiations.
Austria would be happy to host such negotiations in the new facilities build in Vienna (might take a few decades to get it right).

Peace reigns throughout the land. From every church of every denomination, the bells (if they are intact) ring out. Soldiers return to the fields to take in the fall crops. The core of every military in every nation retires to their offices to write their memoirs. The people of the international subculture of Diplomacy click their feet together, bow to each other with grave respect, and return to their respective countries for some well-needed rest.
And I? The Fraulein Shadenfreude and I will take the waters at Lake Geneva. I understand that they also have a hell of a jazz band, that plays until the sun goes down every Thursday night.
The pages of history turn swiftly. Remember these men and women who fought so valiantly and interestingly for their countries.
I salute you all.

If any of the players, or observers, would like to post a little summary of how they felt about the game I'm sure we'd all enjoy it. Maybe a comment or two on how well you felt you did, what were your great plans, best moves, best ally ... etc.

| | Hmmm ... well, I think I did OK for a newbie, at least in the early going. My best move was setting up France for a fall (sorry, Fridai). My worst move was also setting up France for a fall, because then it teamed up with Germany and backstabbed me.
My favorite part was actually trying to be in character ... I had fun writing PMs (even the troop orders), and cracked up countless times reading other folks' messages.

Ailsa | No hard feelings-that's the way the game is played I did try to mess you up somewhat by spreading dis-information anyway so it all works out!
I loved the creativeness of some of the orders. I loved the struggle to stay in the game-and for me it was quite a struggle.

| | OyI-GM Katrinka has been the most capable host: Thank You! I can't imagine how she managed to pull it off considering her schedule.
I found that the hardest part of this game was breaking an alliance. The game stalled and it came down to three-way choice for Austria to proceed: Germany at this point would require total commitment and besides, the deal offered by Kaizerine was too good. Attacking Italy had no point. The decision was further facilitated by Turkey refusal to continue marching. Logical, maybe but still not easy: no matter what Romulans say.
Thank you all for the grandest time. |

| | My least favorite part was seeing France's alliance with England disintegrate. France trusted her alliance with England, and was blind-sided. I always favor the underdog, so I did everything in my power to keep France in the game and punish England for turning her back on France. Besides, I was allied with England, and I knew if she could turn on her earliest alliance that easily, it could happen to me.
I enjoyed discussing moves with other play | |
