| | Pinecone Banner Right Here! | | EA seems to have acquired Pinecone research banners! You all must fit the right demographic Watch your banners closely, and hopefully you will get lucky.

This is my favorite survey place - I make, on average, $10-20 a month on Pinecone and they send out checks up front. I've also gotten some great products to test at home. I like Vividence too since they pay in Amazon certificates, but the opportunities are few and far between.

| | Amy, I'm curious how this works. Is there some place to sign up to get Pinecone banners on your website, or do you need to apply, or do they come out seeking places to put their banner...??? |

| | It's through an ad broker. The broker sells the space for a cut of the revenue. Most ads appear on all of the broker's sites. However, a few are selected specifically for our board and run for a limited time.

| | I just completed my first survey | | First survey today with Pinecone.
Their pages load a lot quicker than most survey sites, there were no buggy pages, and the length was long enough but not excessive.
I highly recommend trying it.

| | Sandy, just change to the default template set in your user control panel options. About 10 minutes of banner surfing should be enough to ensure that you get it.
Then, just flip back to premium, and the banners are gone again.

| | I've been doing Pinecone surveys for about six months now, it seems. Alas, I keep getting teasers but then after three or four questions am told 'thank you, but you're not needed'...
I don't get $5 cheques for those, either. |

| | Makes me wonder what they are looking for and why I have already completed 2 surveys that were about 25 ( short) pages. Each page has only one or two questions, but it's a full survey.
Maybe this is too personal, and if it is, don't answer, but I live in a suburb of a major city with a zip code that falls into the metro Atlanta designation.
Do either of you live in or near a major city?
Somehow, I think that is the big difference. We are test markets for all kinds of new products in our grocery stores, so that's how I know that companies look to urban populations sometimes..
Just a thought.
Cheers.,
Amanda

| | They are probably overwhelmed with submissions from women. The SAHM and freebie crowd probably hits them pretty hard. My husband was snapped right up.

| | Hmmm, I've often wondered what demographics they're looking for. I'm a single, well-educated (post-grad degree) under-30 woman.
But I do live in a major city (suburb of Atlanta.)
Guess I'm just not good enough for them! Hmph. |

| | I am not a SAHM, am classified as working full time, but I still think they may be zeroing in on city dwellers.
Also, FWIW, I have no children at home, which I thought would be a deterrent, not a help when it comes to product testing and opinions.
I belong to about 25 other survey sites and on several, the first question was: Do you live in one of the following cities:
LA, Boston, NYC, Dallas, DC, Atlanta and a couple others
Since I lived in Atlanta, that is what I checked and continued with a very interesting movie preview survey.
Ah, who really knows, right?
I have also received requests from sites I signed up with for my husband to complete a survey.
Cheers!
Amanda

| | For ANYONE who might like to take online surveys and receive products toi test and try and then report on, I have a folder of about 30 or so that I belong to and would be very happy to send my links to you.
Just Email me @mybelladona@yahoo.com.
( Notice: If you send your mail as an attachment, I won't open it, LOL- Crashed a 6 month old IBM Thinkpad this weekend doing that).
Not ALL sites pay in cash ALL the time, some have ( or say they have ) a drawing for "prizes", usually cash awards.
I don't expect to ever win a drawing, but I think my participation in a legit. survey is one of the things I can do to improve our products and services.
Please just send me a message and I will Email you my links.
It took several months to find the best sites and the active ones from all countries which accept English speaking surveyors.
ONLY Pinecone was "invitation only" to join, but MOST are "invitation only" for each survey.
Therefore, I would not be betraying any corporate policy or whatever in sending you the links ( other than Pinecone, which you don't need anyway, right? ).
I see the Internet survey sites as a complement to Epinions.
It's another way for a consumer to voice an opionion about a product or products and services.
Thanks for reading.
Blessings,
Amanda

| | WTG! I just noticed, you live in Atlanta too. What part?
I am in East Cobb Co.
Pinecone is a good survey site, for sure. I like another one too, which sends out 'unlabeled mystery' products which are not on the market yet to test.
It's fun to give input for suggested improvements, names, packaging, etc.
Anyone can Email me if they want to know more. I DON'T get any type of referral $ for sharing the sites, and I don't go to any which are simply a portal for selling services.
See ya!
Amanda

| | I've been taking surveys at Pinecone for a while now (I think I managed to join the last time the ads ran here, in fact) and have been VERY happy with the results. They started sending me surveys almost right away, and they come at a fairly steady pace...not quite once a month, but maybe $10-15 every 2-3 months, and occasionally, some neat product to test. (The actual sending of products didn't happen until a month or so ago, maybe there's some sort of probation period before they send you stuff.)
