Go to your local KB Toys. They have em for $15. But, if your kid has big feet, don't bother making the trip. The largest that I could find is 7 1/2 mens.
They are tennis shoes with skate wheels that fold up inside. Popping the wheels down is simple, and then you can skate away
I tried wearing them for a bit, and they don't like heavy people much either. The soles seem to sag a bit.

| | Actually, it looks like a great idea, but for $15, I can't imagine that they'd be durable and of good quality.
I'd love to have skates hidden in my shoes to skate down the hallways of my seminary. |

| | I got some of those a couple of weeks ago! Only mine are white with pink glittery sides.
I haven't quite worked up the courage to try them out yet.

| | I got myself a pair of heelys. Can't balance on them for beans though. Angel Eyes has been gliding all over the house in my heelys and has probably stolen them for herself

| | Excuse me, but when people post public messages regarding topics that should be private, don't they belong in the "It Takes Balls" section?

Strike 2 for you. |
But, you did ask her to remind you. Quote: Originally posted by frazzledspice Oh, is Avon sponsoring the walk you are all going on?
There isn't a shred of publicity about it in any of the literature we received, or in any of their books. I would think they'd toot their own horn a little.
As for us, we are going on the MS Walk this Saturday at Creekmore Park, because my brother (her uncle) has MS, and we walk in honor of him (he still walks, relying heavily on a cane, but prefers to volunteer at the MS Walk on Long Island.)
Ask us again in a month or so. | |

| | Nicholmere, even when Amy made her first public post, I felt that it was highly inappropriate for her to make an individual public request for money.
I consider myself to be a person who supports churches and charities both financially and personally.
I just sent out 20 letters to neighbors asking them to support the American Diabetes Association. I walked on the MS Walk last month.
I accompany a school choir as a volunteer. I perform in a contemporary church band.
And lately, due to huge dental expenses, auto repairs, and other expenses, our finances have been a little tight.
I also received a bill for a second installment on the pledge we'd made to support my daughter's school building campaign.
All of this is more information than anyone needs to know. All of this information is provided because Amy was rude and inconsiderate enough to make this an issue.
I choose the charities I support. Those charities I cannot afford to support with larger donations I feel we cover through the United Way.
I don't know what to say except that no one should be harassed into making a donation to the walk, or any other cause.
And when Amy made her first public request, her supporters all chimed in, "What a good idea."
It would be much easier just to send a donation at this point, but I don't want to see Amy victimize other people. |

Of course it is also true that one should not question someone else's wish to contribute to a charity of their choice, as you did when pluckyduck first discussed the AVON walk. Andrea, then, too, when it becomes raising a sum of such magnitude, the question becomes what basket a person would like to put those eggs in.
I know that your life has been touched by heart disease. If you wanted to raise $1900, wouldn't you rather do it for the Heart Foundation? | Quote: Originally posted by frazzledspice
All of this is more information than anyone needs to know. | That's true. Although it is odd that you deleted your earlier post in which you very politely explained why you did not wish to make a donation. Why delete that post and replace it with your odd "strike 2" message? Quote: Originally posted by frazzledspice
All of this information is provided because Amy was rude and inconsiderate enough to make this an issue. | Rude? All Amy did was honour your request to be asked again. It does look like her post in this thread is coming out of the blue, but that is because you deleted your other post that she was responding too. Isn't that considered rude, to post and then delete when someone responds? When you questioned pluckyduck's reasons for being involved with AVON, now that is what seems rude and inconsiderate. She's an When someone asks to be reminded about something they shouldn't feel victimized when that happens. As Amy said, I'm sorry too that you felt that way.
Anyway, I'm not writing to discuss whether or not you are making donations to the charities of your choice - I agree that is a very personal decision. I just had to question why you were re-writing history at Amy's expense.
