When Kohl's had its grand opening here I really liked them, but within a month I didn't like them at all. The clothes aren't name brand (except Sag Harbor and Adidas) and the place is always mobbed, so I stopped going.
Yesterday I couldn't get into the lane I needed to be in since traffic was so bad. I was trying to go to Bob's for sneakers, but ended up in the lane for Kohl's, so I figured it was time I gave them a try.
At first I walked around the large store, and couldn't see ANYTHING I liked. I also completely missed the shoes, so I had to do a once around again. I picked out my sneakers, and then went back for some socks. Then I noticed some purses -- more on those in a minute. Then I found some knit shirts I needed for work.
I actually found a lot of nice stuff when I was really looking more deeply.
The purses were Nine West and were on CLEARANCE :gasp:. I bought one for my mother and one for myself. Both retailed around the $50 mark. Mine was on sale for $10, and my mom's was on sale for $7.50. When they were wrung up, however, they were down to $7.50 and $5.25!!! Yowzers!
Everything that I bought ended up being on sale for less than I thought (so, their signs are NOT very good at telling you what is on sale). The shoes that said they were $70 were really $50. The knit shirts were no longer $28, but $16. The socks were on sale too!
I found so many great deals, but it took a lot more looking than I usually do in a store. What I mean is that I can walk into Filene's and walk by five racks and have twelve items that I want to buy. And those are all racks lining the main aisle. I never have to wander back much. And if I do have to it's always something like "need Polo Saturday jeans" then I run to the back, grab them, and go to the check out. I never browse. Browsing is something you really have to do at Kohl's, so give yourself more than a few minutes if you go.
I'm not over the two purses for less than $15, though! Great find. Go me!
