| | I need help from the professional shoppers out there! | | Hi,
I know that there are a few of you out there who have internet shopping down to an art. I'm a bit challenged in that area, and my simple search has left me less than satisfied, so....
If there is anyone out there who can, and is willing to, help me find some nice new rocking chair cusions, I would be much obliged.
I'm looking for some nice fabric cusions for the seat and back of a wooden rocker. I'ld prefer some sort of pattern - flowers, country plaid, or abstact in reds and greens - maybe some pinks and yellows. It's for my kitchen which is done with apples and pears.
If anyone can find some links for me, I'd be much obliged!
Thanks! |

| | You might want to try: Bed Bath & Beyond Linens-n-Things Crate & Barrel
Surprisingly, Wal-Mart and Target are also good choices.

| | Like that, Margaret, but not exactly. I need that for the bottom of the chair, but I need to also have the tall one for the back of the rocking chair. Those seem harder to find. |

I would have thought those stores would be great sources, but when I put in "rocking chair cushions" or "chair cushions" they don't seem to have them.
Walmart nand Target's sites seems to only sell the cushions with the chairs. |

| | Yes, Margaret! That's the ticket!
They seem to be so hard to find. I was hoping to find something with a pattern, but I may have to settle for these - the price isn't bad. I've seen some in a catalog for $48, but the pattern was less than perfect.
Thanks! |

| | Sometimes, Worm, you just have to visit the stores. You'll find a lot more available there than you will on-line. I'm not sure why that is.
Probably 75% of the items that appear on our on-line registries show that they can be purchased in-store only. This is true for every single place that we registered. And, a search for those very items in the system (model #s/ SKU#s and everything) will show that they don't carry them when indeed they do.
Not sure why that happens... but then again, it's no wonder that mortar-store sales are climbing while on-line store sales are faltering. |

| | Don't tell Rich, but I found this in the patio furniture section.
Now I know it sounds odd, but my MIL uses the cushions inside as well. Can get lots of different types and patterns.

| | Thanks, Jeff. I kow that I did look at Walmart, and they didn't have. I'll have to try Target. Unfortunately, I don't have the other stores nearby. |

You have to go here to pick out your fabric/pattern.
My MIL uses it on wicker.

| | I think you can buy chair cushions that adhere to the chair bottoms because of whatever fabric the bottom part of the cushion is made of.
You can also have cushions custom made for chairs.
I have bought cushions such as the ones pictured above for my wooden kitchen chairs and when we'd sit on them we'd move the ties back and forth and they'd fall off within a month (sigh.)
I am about ready to go back and have cushions custom made for them at the place where I had the set done (I think they said it would be $16 a chair.) |

| | You already have some excellent choices. I love Elyzabeth's cushions!
I found these, which look mighty comfy: Quote:
Rocker Cushions, PolarFleece
Our 2 piece rocking chair cushion set is wonderfully soft, warm and inviting. Won't pill no matter how often you machine wash and dry them! Plumped with poly fiberfill. Fits all standard rockers.
| They are from The Home Marketplace http://www.thehomemarketplace.com/sh...item_num=52449
$49.95
If you want to buy them, go through this link first: http://www.shoptopten.com/House%20Wares.htm
Scroll down until you see "Home Market Place". Click through the $10 off $40 link. As long as the link works the way it is supposed to (it worked for me when I played with it), you'll get the cushions for $39.95 Shipping should be $7.95.

| | You Guys, Rock! Thank you all! I knew that there were folks on EA that would have better search luck than me, but I'm overwhelmed!
Lynne - thanks - I love some of the fabrics, but it doesn't seem like they have cusions for rockers. (of course I may have missed something!)
Wivabef - Yippie. These sites are great! I like the choice of fabrics on the the first link. the image that you showed actually is the fabric on my old placemats! No, I won't be getting that one, but I do like one that they show with fruit. This could be the ticket! The link to the cushion page didn't work, but I'll try again later or call the place.
Frazzled - I don't worry about the ties too much. The cushions I now have are old, and I never had a problem. We don't sit in this chair all that much, so they don't get pulled. Actually, Birdie (one of my cats) has sort of taken over the chair. I just need new cushions so that they match the house better.
Ducky - funny - last night I was freezing (we had the air set at 80 degrees) and was joking to MrWorm that I needed some polar fleece! I do love polar fleece, but somehow I'm not sure if it's the best option in Florida.
Think I have some good options now.
Not sure how you guys are searching - you found SOOOO much more than I could, but I do appreciate all of your help!! |

| LOL!
That's funny.
I checked your state for sales tax, but I forgot to consider whether or not Polar Fleece went with it.
I was going to vote for Elyzabeth's cushions anyway.

| | I'm sorry - somehow I missed this post the first time around. The LL Bean ones are nice - I like the leaves! Thanks!
Now I may have too many to choose from! | | |
