My mom had a doll made of me one year for Christmas. She took a baby picture of me, and had a doll made that looked almost exactly like me.

Then she had one made of her sister from a baby picture of her sister. My aunt just passed away, and that is the only doll from my aunt's collection that the family is keeping. It meant that much to them.

My Twinn is a company where you can have a doll made to your specifications. Have one made of your child, or of a loved one from a baby photo.

My sister-in-law's two girls received these 'mytwinn' dolls as Christmas presents last year.

The 'Scrooge' in me says they are way over-priced. Even at the $120 price...

But they did seem to be high-quality and they actually looked reasonably close to each child.

They both adored them when they first got them. Not sure what they think of them after a year...:-|
