Shop Till You Drop! Yeah. I know you're not supposed to shop online using company resources. But, if you're going to do it, you may as well save some money.

Car insurance for 6 mo under $200

I just read this on Fat Wallet.

The insurance company's website is www.gmac123.com

They give a free online quote, but they do check your credit rating (which, should only matter if you have bad credit and you think you are going to try to get credit in the near future).

The member who posted about it was able to get insurance for 6 mo for under $200.

I'd be happy to get 6 mo. for under $1500!

I'm waiting for my quote now. Perhaps it will be something good for others on the board.

The insurance company is through GM, which is a name that I trust. They are not some fly by night company. If you are worried, you can search for the thread on www.fatwallet.com and read what the members posted from an independent insurance website which rated them highly.

I've filled out Progressive's a few times in the past, and each time they told me they couldn't give me the rates of their competitors "at this time". What good is that? I've also tried Met's online insurance quote too. Both of these took a long time to fill out. This one took minutes.

One thing I did notice was that it did not ask me if I have ABS. Now, it came standard on my car, so maybe there was no reason to. However, I had to prove to Allstate (the schmucks) that it did have ABS. It also did not ask if I was a student. These factors may make a difference in price for some people.

Anyway, HTH someone.
