| | Has anyone tried Soft Walk brand shoes?
They look nice on the website I'm looking at, they come in wide widths, and they have rubber bottoms (I won't buy shoes for work any more unless they have rather thick rubber bottoms, because everything else makes my feet ache).
That's the pair I'm liking right now.
I'd love to buy them, but they're about twice as expensive as I'd like to pay, plus, I was hoping to get a pair of clogs in black and brown. I really can't afford $200 worth of clogs at this point.
Sigh. But, if you said they were the most wonderful things in this world, I might be able to splurge for one pair. |

| | I don't have any experience with that brand, but they look an awful lot like the Eddie Bauer clogs I have.
I picked them up in both black and brown at a really great price a couple of years ago (if I remember correctly they were $29 a piece with a regular price of $60 maybe?). They might still make them. I can vouch for their comfort.

| | I just looked at a catalog that I happened to have sitting around here. Apparently, Eddie Bauer still makes the Comfort Clog, but they aren't styled the same way anymore. They now have prominent stitching around the sole. The construction appears to be the same though.
I don't know if you'd like the new look (I personally like the old design better) but it's worth taking a peek at. They run $59 a pair.

| | Just curious, do the Eddie Bauer ones have the rippley insoles that these ones have. I'm not positive I want the egg-crate like insoles, anyway. Also, were you able to get black ones in the catelogue? I just looked online, and the colors listed were brown, chocolate, and neutral. All of them were shades of brown.
I probably should get my butt into some shoe stores LOL. Clogs shouldn't be difficult to find. |

| | Oops. I hadn't noticed those insoles. Those are interesting, aren't they?
Nope. The EB's have a normal insole with a cushy padding in them.
I have a pair of black, but they were the old design. The color must have been discontinued when they changed the look.

| | Yeah, they are interesting looking -- I can't decide if they'd be comfy or not.
LL Bean has a pair that looks more like these than the Eddie Bauer ones (I decided to check there since the two stores usually have comparable products). They're the same price as the EB ones, but have more color options.
They don't have the egg-crate look inside though --not sure if that's an asset or not. I'd like to try those eggcrate insoles, or get an opinion on them. I know I love the way that the Adidas Addidassage sandals feel... it seems like it would be even better with more gentle "bumps". |

| | I bought these shoes when Andrea shared the Nordstrom thread with us ( ).
They just arrived (that was quick, actually!) and they are heavenly. No, seriously. I think they are the first comfortable shoes I ever wore.
I don't want to pay that much for shoes, but they ARE worth it.
The padding took a few minutes to get used to. It doesn't feel stiff or poke you like addidasage sandals do. But, at first, you do notice the ripples. But then, once you get used to that (and it doesn't take long), they are to die for!
They're wide enough, they are cushioned enough, the leather is soft enough, and, well, they're perfect!
They have them on Norstrom.com and Amazon.com off the top of my head, and they also have the complete collection at www.softwalkshoes.com with free shipping.
They come in regular, wide and narrow sizes.
I wish I could review them on Eps. I'd give them five stars! |

| | Stop, for the love of Pete!
You know I have this comfort shoe thing going on. I'm able to justify any expenditure "for my back".
I have a pair of black suede Timberland clogs, 11M, that I wear constantly. They have a whole shock absorbtion technology design, so they are good for my back, but I really need a narrow. I shuffle a tad too much, keeping them on my feet.
And that padding inside the Soft Walks looks wonderful!
!sigh
$100 clogs would make a dent in my lamp budget, and I can't let that happen!!
Enjoy.
Andrea

| | Andrea, I am not trying to talk you into buying the clogs, but, I wore the clogs all day to work yesterday, and for the first day in a while I wasn't in much pain and no one asked me "why are you limping?".
They are the best thing I could have done for myself, honestly.
If you go to www.softwalk.com they have a lot more than just clogs. All of them have that egg-crate cushioning. They feel like wearing slippers! It's fantastic!
Ok, I am honestly not trying to talk you into a pair... unless of course they'd be a really good thing for your back and talking you into buying a pair meant more pain-free days. My back pain hasn't been bad this week, so I'm not sure if the shoes definately help with back pain. They'd be comfy though |

| | Andrea,
Why settle?
You can get a comfy shoe and a lamp in one purchase.
Sara
Not sure they come in narrow widths

But it doesn't seem as comfy.

My back woman. My lamps have to be good for my back!
Wait. I think I'm confused.

I've decided that's my new communication style.
Let's see how long that lasts before someone throws a shoe lamp at me.

| | Re Soft Walk Shoes | | I just read the shoe comments and especially the Softwalk ones. So I cruised the web and found a great bargain on the Lomita sandals at ShowBuy.com
I got a $85. pr. of shoes (higher some places) for $63. (no shipping)
can't wait to get them. suetiggers | | |
