On the main page of Amazon, there is a trivia question. Answer it correctly, and they put a nickel in your account. Then, it asks if you want to answer another. I was given 5 questions and got them all correct. I'm rich now

| | Years ago there was an episode of Married with Children where Kelly was being chastized by her father, and if she answered questions correctly, he gave her a "shiny new nickle".
A misogynstic ex-coworker used to do the same with the girls he worked with. "I'll give you a shiny new nickle if you can tell me...."
His favorite band was Led Zep. Growing up in my town, all you ever heard on the two radio stations was Led Zep. I hate them, because, literally, you'd hear about 10 Led Zep songs on the radio in a typical work shift. Seriously. It gets terribly redundant.
So, Led Zep songs would come on, and he'd turn to me and say "Margaret, I'll give you a shiny new nickel if you can tell me the name of this Led Zep song." I'd tell him if I knew it, and if I didn't, I'd ask someone while he wasn't looking, and come back and tell him I "remembered" it (I had to do that before the chorus though, so I had to be fast!)
Anyway, he meant it to be a condescending thing. But, I started keeping track. By the end of that summer, he owed over $7!
And yes, I did make him pay up
Good times. |

| | You know, I only do these when I actually go to Amazon to look for something...
I'm up to $1.35 so far
Think if I did this every day!
Alas, I have had money sitting in my Amazon acct for some time, and I haven't found anything I want in a long time. Whenever I find one thing, I find a bunch, but until I find that one thing... ug... |

| | Re: Amazon Trivia Nickels | | I finally found this thing! They're down to just 3 questions a day, but so far I've found them every day, so that's 90 cents I'm up to!
I wish I'd had some before I ordered Harry Potter 5 to take at least a smidge of the bite out of it. (What am I complaining about, I already only have to pay 40 cents out of my own pocket! )

I think I got almost $4.00. That's cool!

I don't know if I reached my limit, or what happened.

Must have to do with how often you do it? I only do it occasionally.

Sandy | I think it works like this. When you place an order, they assume you want to apply your trivia money, so you see the $ there. Because I am certifiable, I've unchecked the box on my orders, wanting to accumulate a sum. I am so crazy, I want to pile my nickles up and not use them.
After you answer a question, it will show you in very small print how many nickles you've gotten to date.
There might be another place in your account that just tells you the money, but I haven't been able to find it.
Andrea

| | Stumbled onto this one... | | A while back I had collected $1.40 in nickels and used it toward an order I placed. The same day I decided I wanted to order something else instead and cancelled my order. When I placed the new order, instead of getting back my $1.40 I got $5 in nickels. Not that I am recommending this for everyone to try, just my experience. It may have been a one time event type of thing.
