| | What are your shopping guilty pleasures?
You know, the stuff you shouldn't buy, but, you do?
I just bought this little cutie. It's less than a year old, and has beautiful patina on the handles:
I also bought a new wallet earlier this week which hasn't arrived yet:
Sigh. If loving purses is wrong, I don't want to be right.
I think I need to play more KoC. I get to buy lots of stuff there and it doesn't hurt my pocket book.
I so want to design a fashionista game. You start off buying Nine West, move up to Coach, move up to Vuitton, move up to Hermes, and then you die and go to fashionista heaven
Do any of you get so wrapped up in buying any particular "thing"? Something that technically, you don't "need"? |

| | Funny you should ask.
I was just thinking of you and your purses, Margaret dear, as I bought two pairs of "comfort" shoes for the summer.
I'm getting addicted to buying shoes that have technology. http://www.zappos.com/n/br?brand_id=185
If there's a diagram, I'm interested. If you tell me it is designed and handcrafted in Holland, I have no choice. Quote: |
Wolky combines upscale fashion and high quality craftmanship with foot soothing comfort right out of the box. Designed and hand crafted in Holland, Wolky shoes are styled with flair and engineered with the finest materials and leathers. The sandals and walking shoes are highly adjustable for optimal fit and foot soothing comfort. Many of Wolky's leading styles are endorsed by the American Podiatric Medical Association. Treat your feet to the Wolky Experience.

We may remember that the two pair of Birkies I bought a couple months ago were supposed to take me through the summer.

| | Uhm, Andrea...that shoe is shaped really odd.
Unless, you have duck feet, I guess!
My guilty pleasure? Kitchen gadgets. I'm a sucker for anything you can cook with, but I really shouldn't buy them because I can't cook worth a darn. Even with the technology!!!

| | That's ok, Lynn. You'll have cookware you can't cook with, I'll have purses with no money in them, and Duck will have odd-shaped shoes with duckfeet in them She did say her feet were narrow... LOL.
Duck, I was thinking of you the other day. I went shoe shopping out of despiration. I may need to enlist your help. I need a shoe that has a slope to it (think of the way a small heeled shoe slopes your foot). It also needs to be kind of platform, because I like to look like I'm not a midget, plus, the extra "stuff" under my feet keeps me comfortable on them for longer than normal shoes. They also have to be wide. I am leaning toward open toed shoes, but, there is a big war where I work about open toed shoes (long story), so, I might be persueded to buy closed toed ones. Sigh. I tried on almost every pair of shoes in a shoe store, and none of them worked.
Actually, 1 pair of Steve Madden shoes worked. They were normal width too, go figure. But, they had the ugliest soles, and, the sole pointed up in the front of the shoe... like, in front of my toes. They were the weirdest looking things ever. I couldn't do it.
Sigh. Ran to another shoe store. Tried on almost every black or brown shoe they had from size 7 to 9. Nothing fit. Nothing looked good.
I *used* to have a shoe thing, Ducky, back when I could wear shoes. It changed into a purse and jacket thing when I realized that any time I went shoe shopping I had to take antidepressants, and would still end up coming home shoeless and crying.
I almost wish I could just step in hot asphalt, and wear that on my otherwise bare feet now. I abhore shoes. |

| | Hmmm. Probably not enough of a slope or heel, but it is sure purty. http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/357105/c/208.html
Goes to WW. No diagram, but the copy sucks me in.
Andrea
Let me see what else I can find.

| | I have those without the basketweave. Those are absolutely flat shoes. The eggcrate in them is fantastic (if you're looking for clogs, duckster, LOL), but, not slopey enough for me.
My only comfy shoes right now are an old pair of Nine and Co. sandals. The front is about 2 inches high, and the back heel is about four. They are sooo comfy. They are in such bad shape though. They have three fat leather straps across the foot, one up the middle of the shoe, and one around the heel. Each time I wear them, I have to crazy glue a stap back into place. The heel straps are so stretched, that they lay on the bottom of my heel, and are not even taught across the back of my heel. LOL. I get a lot of compliments on them though, so I guess no one can tell they're beat to death, LOL. |

| | I'm thinking about these ones.
Steve Maddens don't come in wide, but, they almost always fit for some reason. They're always the brand I turn to in the summer. Those are a little boring though. I feel like it's the same pair I've been buying for at least 5 years now... I just keep getting the newer varriation. Sigh. |

| | Hey, these are cute:
I prefer to walk on chunky heels, however. I'm not sure how I'd do in a narrow heel like that. Haven't tried wearing a non-chunky heel in a few years. |

| | I love those Steve Maddens!
It's pretty funny trying to look for shoes for you, Margaret. I'm 5' 10" and am always looking for narrow...so, this is definitely Bizarro shoe shopping.
I gotta get back to work (yes, on a Saturday night ) , but I do have a couple places for you to check out: http://www.DesignerShoes.com/index.php
has a lot of nice shoes that are wide. I didn't see anything that yelled "perfect", but you might have more luck. There's a lot to go through.
This shoe took a lot of my time:
I don't like the looks of the store particularly http://www.justwideshoes.com/cgi-bin...52009037.17481
So I tried to find the same shoe (it's a Softspots) elsewhere and couldn't.
I like the shoe, though.

| | Oh and this store is a huge find: https://mossershoes.com/
They specialize in the cool comfort shoes. I'm drooling over a bunch of things there. If I hadn't just bought what I bought on Zappos, I'd be forking over serious bucks there.
They do have a good selection of wide shoes, but I didn't see anything that met your height requirements.

| | My guilty pleasures are books. Not buying them, I never feel guilty about that. It's a guilty pleasure for me to be reading them because I'm usually supposed to be doing my homework or getting some sleep.
