A long time ago Eye had a thread describing her trip to Bloomie's and the bag that caught her eye which retailed at over $5000.
I can't believe I've remembered that thread all this time. This morning I saw something that reminded me of it, and, sure enough the thread is archived (although, I take back my part about the Canal Street bags  )

And yes Melanie, I agree, that is a lot of money for a purse, but, not a Judith Leiber purse.
Just like I have art hanging on the walls of my home that retails for $120. There is art that retails for $120,000. I could never dream of owning something like that.
Purses are like that. The high-end ones, like fine artwork, retain their value over time. Some even increase in value.

Hm. Think I missed the purse you meant. The only one I see there is a rhinestone purse for $120. Is that what you meant?
That one I don't covet. Wish I could find a picture of the one I liked. It really was quite nice.  |

Drat!!! It must have sold!
It was $1200 I believe. It was a beautiful shape, completely covered in rhinestones with a beautiful floral pattern. The link took us directly to the purse this morning.
