Shop Till You Drop! Yeah. I know you're not supposed to shop online using company resources. But, if you're going to do it, you may as well save some money.

Shopping Challenge -- What NOT to Wear

... and what to wear.

Ok... I thought this would be fun.

If you'd like to challenge me, pick the part of your body you like least -- butt, boobs, arms, waist, saddlebags, neck, legs.... whatever.

Tell me why you don't like it (too big, too little, to thin, too fat), and I'll try to make this just like the TV show -- I'll try to show you the "worst" as well as the "best" outfits for that particular feature.

If you've never seen the show... well, they do what I'm doing here (show what's not a good look, then, show how one can enhance their features by choosing the right clothes), only, the people on the show get a shopping spree.

I can tell you where you could get the look, but, I can't buy them for you.

Who is brave enough to step up first?

(If you'd like to be anonymous to the board, you can pm your concern to me. I'll post it in the thread, but, I won't reveal your identity. I promise).

And sorry, boys, but, I know about dressing ladies only.

Why I had this idea -- I've been watching the show, and, I bought the What Not To Wear book. I've been using the principles in my own wardrobe, and, people are actually commenting on the difference! They don't know that what's different is just a few key pieces in my wardrobe.

I have to admit, I feel a lot more comfortable in my clothes since I've learned what looks best for my body type.

So, if I can pass that along to others, hopefully a few small changes can have others looking and feeling great too!

Quick-links to topics already covered:

Big Bottom

Flabby Tummy

Flat Chest

Short Waist/No Waist

Heavy Ankles/Calves

Re: Shopping Challenge -- What NOT to Wear

I've suddenly developed a butt in the past two years . Hubby says it's nice, but I don't think it goes well with my "poochie gut" and lack o'boobs.

Pick a problem and have at it.

PS: one condition: you CANNOT make me carry a purse to even out the proportions. I'll do just about anything but carry a purse

Re: Shopping Challenge -- What NOT to Wear

Here's my big fashion challenge*: I am extremely short-waisted, but I have long legs for a short person (I'm 5'3", 37" from hip bone to floor, 32" inseam). I am also a size 2 but I can't wear petites in pants that are cut short. I tend to buy lots of crop tops when they're available because they look like normal shirts on me.

Go to it!

*I actually like my long legs and short waist, but it's difficult to find clothes size for the short waisted.

Re: Shopping Challenge -- What NOT to Wear

Ok, no purses involved in this exercise, MJ. Wallets might be, if one should choose to buy some of these looks

I'm starting seperate threads to deal with each issue. Be patient. This is a bigger undertaking than even I imagined

But, shopping is fun, right?

Re: Shopping Challenge -- What NOT to Wear

Okay, I'll bite. Fairly hourglass figure with 36, 26, 37. Not bad thighs (a little heavy) but horrid calves. Fat Fat Fat, no matter how hard I exercise them.

My haircolor is the hardest thing to work around - I'd like to try some different, brighter colors, but it's an odd shade of strawberry blonde (not really blonde, not really red, not really strawberry, but somewhere inbetween all of them). I've found this spring the bright light blues and limes work okay.

Go for it. Color me, baby.

Ok, we've covered:

Big Bottom

Flabby Tummy

Flat Chest

Short Waist/No Waist

Heavy Ankles/Calves

Anyone else have an area of the body that they could work on?
