Shop Till You Drop! Yeah. I know you're not supposed to shop online using company resources. But, if you're going to do it, you may as well save some money.

Shopping Challenge -- Ample Rear-End

Ok, a common problem -- a large derriere. Big butts are in, but, not everyone needs or wants to show off their booty.

Here's some styles that flatter ample rears, rather than advertising that "baby's got back!"

Skirts

Bad look for ample rears -- A-Line Skirt

Better look --

A Pencil Skirt

Another good look --

Flared Skirt

Why? An A-line skirt will bubble out over an ample behind.

A pencil skirt clings in all the right places and is well tailored.

A flared skirt will skim the butt, will come in on the legs, and kick back out again at the hem, giving a beautiful "S" shape.

Note: With this, and all entries, look at the overall style, not the one particular example. You might hate any one piece I choose, but, it's the style of the piece that is important.

Pants

Bad Ideas:

High Waisted Clingy Pants

Pleated Pants

Tapered Pants

Good Looks in Pants for Ample Butts

Side-Zip Straight Legged Pants

Wide-Legged Trousers

Why:

High-and-tighties -- the fabric clings to the butt, and, there's a lot of fabric, making it look big.

Pleats -- a for all women -- they're designed to "fit" any body, but, the pleats pucker out and make everyone look like they're going to pop. A big backside will just pull the pleats out.

Tapered pants -- makes the ankles slim, but, your backside look even larger in comparison.

Size-zipped Straight-legged -- lower waist makes for less fabric on the butt, and the straight leg brings the eye down and puts everything into proportion.

Wide-legged trousers -- They don't hug the butt, but, drape softly over it.

Jackets

Bad:

Cropped Jackets

Longer Straight Jackets (not that kind of straight jacket )

Good:

Tailored Longer Jackets

Why:

Cropped jackets cut you off right at your largest part, making it a focal point.

Long, straight, jackets end up clinging on the butt and hanging on the waist -- not flattering.

A long jacket will cover the butt, and if it is tailored, it will draw attention to the waist and away from the butt.
