Shop Till You Drop! Yeah. I know you're not supposed to shop online using company resources. But, if you're going to do it, you may as well save some money.

Question Buy a car on eBay?

Has anyone here purchased a car or truck on ebay? What was your experience like? How was the automobile?

Those who have been following other threads know my beloved Jeep Wrangler had a sad demise, and I am now in the market for a replacement vehicle.

I am looking to go "up" in the SUV world somewhat, though, so am looking in unusual places for good prices on a used Chevy full sized Blazer 4x4, Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4, Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4 or Chevy S-10 Blazer 4x4, model years 92 - 98. (No, I am NOT a Ford person, and the Dodge durango has a cruddy safety and crash rating...)

Anyway - hearing about your experiences in online auto shopping would be most appreciated.

Re: Buy a car on eBay?

My sister's boyfriend bought a car from Texas on Ebay and had it shipped to NY.

This was last summer, right before we left NY, and I never actually saw the car. He likes sports cars, as a rule.

But I remember that you can use an evaluation service, recommended by Ebay, through which a licensed mechanic gives the car a thorough evaluation before you purchase it, and my sister's boyfriend did that.
