Shop Till You Drop! Yeah. I know you're not supposed to shop online using company resources. But, if you're going to do it, you may as well save some money.

Overstock -- Be Really, Really, Really Careful

A little bit ago Overstock has a Tiffany and Co. Elsa Peretti necklace for sale for $50! That seemed like the deal of the century. It said it came with the blue box and drawstring bag.

I didn't bite. I knew Overstock could not get Tiffany merchendise, because, only Tiffany sells Tiffany. There was a small part of me that thought I missed a good deal, but, overall, I knew better.

Sure enough, on a shopping board I hear everyone complaining who bought this necklace. It's a cheap knock-off that isn't even close to the real thing. It does, however, have Tiffany stamped on it

Overstock is denying they are fake, and is giving customers a hard time about returns (they are only letting some have a free return label) and restocking fees (you may be charged by the warehouse)

I've had my problem in the past with Overstock, and many people were taken on that "deal" as well.

I've also been a satisfied customer of Overstock's as well.

So, beware. If you are buying something like towels from them, it's probably safe. However, if you are buying something you expect to be an authentic brand, it might well not be. If you are buying electronics -- don't. They are not authorized retailers and there is NO warrenty on any electronics you buy.

We all know I like shopping (gee... ya think?) and that I like finding bargains. But, I don't like seeing people get taken by websites.

Buyer beware on this one.

I bought a computer desk from them. It arrived in somewhat beat-up condition, with scratches on some of the outside surfaces. It was also rather difficult to assemble.

I didn't bother complaining or returning it (for one thing, we got it just before vacation and didn't get around to opening it up until several weeks after we returned), but I don't think I'll be shopping at Overstock anymore.

Oy, I remember when you bought that Eye! You were so excited about it. What a shame.

I contacted Tiffany about it, as well as linking to the shopping board that where it is being discussed.

I don't have a lot of tolerance for fakes, and, neither do the companies that are being copied.

(Personally, I think they have good grounds to sue the pants off of Overstock, since, the items not only falsely bared the Tiffany and Co. name, there were also customers who contacted Overstock to see if they were real who were old that they were authentic).

For what it cost, and with no delivery charge, the computer desk is about as good as could be expected. One part has a nasty crack in it, though. And now that my blisters are mostly healed, I'm starting to put that "difficult to assemble" behind me

I've found them to be excellent for books, movies, and music. I don't think I've ever used them for anything else.

Tiffany was recently awarded a very substantial sum of money from a company who was manufacturing and selling counterfit Tiffany jewelry. Overstock should be more careful, but any company who purchases overstocks might unknowingly get trapped. Not an excuse - just some info.

The only thing I've ever gotten from Overstock was a Hitachi 10-cup rice cooker. Works great after several years of regular use (4-5 times a week), and the price was good--around $50 with s/h, IIRC.

Hey. I'm selling Tiffany & Co stuff, too. I'm also selling Rolex watches.

All of it must go for the low and unbelievable price of $49.00 (that's an incredible savings of $1 below what Overstock.com sells the stuff for). Mine includes shipping & handling.

There is a slight delay in shipping, however. I don't print up the Rolex or Tiffany & Co. labels until I have an actual order.

So, kiddies, remember, Christmas is just around the corner! Go and find mommy's purse and daddy's wallet. Be sure to get that money out of there. Yes, it is okay, and you'll be doing mommy and daddy a favor anyhow. Money is the root of all evil. You don't want mommy and daddy to be evil, do you? I didn't think so. Anyhow, get all of mommy and daddy's money and send it to me. I will send you a really nice gift for them in return. They will love you forever.

Weren't they a big Rush advertiser? Maybe they're selling other cool stuff you can't get anywhere else.
