Shop Till You Drop! Yeah. I know you're not supposed to shop online using company resources. But, if you're going to do it, you may as well save some money.

Question ink cartridges

I admit it. I'm intimidated by computer equipment. Not a place that I like to skimp. I need to buy a replacement color ink cartridge for my HP ColorJet. I know which one I need, but I see that office depot has there own "brand" designed to fit that printer. Does anyone have experience with them? Is it just as good, or are ink cartridges one of those things that we should just buy the expensive way.
I know that there are lots of re-fill kits, but I have nightmare images of me with my hands covered in permanent ink. I'm just not that brave.
It's only a $3 difference. Do I buy myself a coffee or get the HP cartridge?

Re: ink cartridges

I refill my own cartridges so that tells you that I'd buy the coffee (or some other yummy treat)!

Re: ink cartridges

I just buy the HP ones. But that's because I'm lazy when it comes to those types of things.

Re: ink cartridges

We refill ours. It's easy. They give you a syringe. No fuss. No muss.

We throw them away after a refill or two though, because print quality goes down eventually.

Re: ink cartridges

There is an ink company called Amazon - not connected with Amazon.com the selling company - that sells the niftiest refill kits for certain types. It's basically a box with the ink in the bottom and tube up the middle. You still have to do the "drill a hole in the cartridge" deal, but then you just snap the cartridge in the box, turn it over, and it refills the cartridge for you! No syringes or squeezie bottles. They do make them for color, too. I found mine at Radio Shack. Lemme see if I can find a link....
