| | Northwest Airlines Fare Sale | | $188 for travel within Zone A or B, $218 from Zone A or B to Canada, $238 between Zone B and A or C, $248 between Zones A and C. That's for Tuesday or Wednesday travel--the other days of the week are about $40 higher.
You need to be a member of their frequent flier program and on their e-mail list. The travel must be completed by June 9. http://www.nwa.com/features/march06w...cta.v1SL3short
Maybe it's the start of some more low summer fares. |

| | Re Northwest Airlines Fare Sale | | I hope so. I'm going to Raleigh NC end of July and fares are so high. I want to fly from Portland into Raleigh and out of Savannah back to Portland and am crossing my fingers that fares will go down.

| | Re Northwest Airlines Fare Sale | | Deb, just keep looking. Is there any way you can do a round trip Portland to Raleigh and back, by using ground transportation to get from Savannah back to Raleigh? One-way fares are so expensive.
Flying out of Savannah can be an interesting exercise. DH and I drove to North Carolina with friends for a week at their time share in Hilton Head last November, and we needed to fly home. Finding an affordable flight back to Detroit Metro from Savannah took some looking. Also, the connections seemed bizarre. I finally settled on one that went through Atlanta and Cleveland which cost a fraction of some of the other flights. (There was one flight that connected through Los Angeles and New Jersey! The price was reasonable, but we didn't want the trip to take twelve hours.)

Savannah. I love Savannah. I may need to watch Midnight in the Garden again. |

| | Re Northwest Airlines Fare Sale | | Savannah is charming. When we were there last November, we ate lunch at Uncle Bubba's restaurant as part of the Paula Deene tour (so we still have cards from taking the tour good for making a reservation at The Lady and Sons Restaurant, which otherwise takes no reservations. Want a reservation card, Deb?). Paula Deene is just a stitch, and she and her whole family are nice.

When we were there, the line for The Lady and Sons was out the door, and that was BEFORE she was on Food Network. Helen, where did you stay? | | |
