| | need help from any 'black-belt' online | | Hi Folks! (newbie here)
I've spent at least 15 hours shopping online looking for a vanity STOOL. You ladies out there surely remember grandmas vanity, usually big mirror, drawers on either side, your knees in the 'knee space.' They're kinda old fashioned now.
Most of my junk flooded off to Bali with Katrina. When rebuilding, the only thing I splurged on is a huge vanity with a fabuous red/black granite top, two sets on drawers in walnut on other side and a space for my knees. BUT, I cannot find a vanity stool. Everyone I've seen online has been too low in the seat (about 18-20") while bar stools are too high, up to 38-40"
What I need is something about 23", hopefully with a back on it, hopefully somewhat matchable to the wood. I've googled and yahooed and metacrawed endless hours and nothing comes up. I can't believe I'm the only person who's ever wanted one of these. After Katrina, no stores left, so online is our best method.
I know some of you really know how to find things on the web. If you have any ideas of where to look that I haven't, please share!
Also, I'm new here (first post), so I haven't perused enough to know what all goes on here, but I like what I see. I'm an animal freak, teach college biology, married no kids, live on the MS gulf coast.
Also, anyone can email me at home, but I haven't yet found the spot where I post that. Help is appreciated!
Thanks All,
Lohmeier |

| | Re need help from any 'black-belt' online | | No help with the stool, except to ask if you've tried on-line antiques stores. But welcome!

| | Re need help from any 'black-belt' online | | Hi Lohmeier!
Welcome to EA! You're right - we have some expert shoppers here. I'm not one of them.
I purchased a vanity chair at Bed Bath and Beyond, but I don't think you'll find a nice wood one there. If I see anything, I'll come back and post.
Sorry you had such losses from Katrina. I hope you and yours are recovering! |

| | Re need help from any 'black-belt' online | | I found some beauties, but they're all too tall or too short.
The only thing I could find that hieght was this. It's not at all fancy, but you could stain it and cover the seat. And the price is good. |

| | Re need help from any 'black-belt' online | | Hi and welcome. Not much help in the shopping department for stools, but I'm an animal lover too. Have to with so many around my place!
someone here is bound to find something for you...and FWIW, we have one of those old fashioned vanities....it was part of my mom's bedroom set and now belongs to my daugther. Very cool furniture to own.

| | Re need help from any 'black-belt' online | | I have a wicker-seated vanity bench, which I refinished years ago. I use it to hold up my hughe old amplifier. What are you looking to spend?

Anyways...Welcome! You could always build one yourself, that way it would be the exact style/height/everything that you want.

| | Re need help from any 'black-belt' online | | I think it was Grammie's and went to Nana. Anyway, it's an heirloom and it's in the bead cave.
