I want sweaters that last...

Well, July 27th marks the day when retailers put their fall clothes on the shelves for us all to buy.

And... I'm a sweater buyer. I HATE summer because I can't wear sweaters. I feel awkward wearing anything besides sweaters. I like the way they feel on my skin. I like my arms being covered. I like their soft warmth.

But, I destroy sweaters.

Every sweater I own has little balls all across my boobs, and on the sleeves. The boobs are huge, and therefore there's a lot of friction as I try to work and well, live.

Any suggestions on how to make them last longer? Sometimes I wear a sweater twice before I want to retire it!

I do have better luck with Cashmere sweaters, but, I don't have hundreds of dollars to buy enough to make an entire wardrobe of cashmere.

A) definitely no acrylic blends... or any synthetic blends

B) Benetton. I have Benetton sweaters I've had since high school. You'd never know they were 20 years old. Well, except for the style of one.

Can't help on the 'what to buy' question, but do you have a fuzz muncher thingy?

L.L. Bean, if they aren't too boring for you. I've never thrown out any Bean sweater I've owned.

I've never found them to be helpful, but I haven't bothered trying in a good ten years... do they work for you?

LOL. Sorry, Cindy... I saw L.L. Bean, thought "boring" then kept going and read the rest of your post.

I wish Hanna Andersson made more fun clothes for big people. There's a place who has great sweaters!
