Shop Till You Drop! Yeah. I know you're not supposed to shop online using company resources. But, if you're going to do it, you may as well save some money.

I may be a Priceline convert

For the past 8 years, I've used Hotwire almost exclusively for our air travel (since my family lives 1400 miles away, I fly to visit them a few times a year.)

Because my Dad, a nonagenarian, has just had surgery, I felt the need to fly in quickly, but wasn't sure I could do it without breaking the piggy bank.

Hotwire wasn't much help. But at Priceline, I was able to get 2 tickets (for my youngest daughter and myself) AND a rental car for 9 days for $1064....

From our little airport 5 miles from my house.

If any of you has ever rented a car at a NYC airport, you'd know that renting the car alone would cost close to $400.

We're leaving 6 a.m. Monday, with less than two days notice.

I am a Priceline convert.

Re I may be a Priceline convert

Sounds like a great deal, Frazz.
Hope all goes well with your dad.

As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into.
